Pick elsewhere to stay unless they've updated the property!

This place can be nice but it needs some help. The view was great! However, there were mice running around. I woke up to mice feces on my bananas. They are supposed to provide drinking water because you can't drink the tap water but they left us with a quarter jug for 5 guests. We used all the water on the first day. There's hardly any utensils. There's one pot and no pans, so if you plan on cooking bring your own kitchen supplies. The grill had no propane. The check out instructions state to start a load of laundry if you have time so I did that, and upon taking my pillow case off, I discover I've been sleeping on what appeared to be a urine stain. We were unable to take a shower after our fishing trip because the water was awful.

Disappointment

We didn’t get to stay there. Reservation was canceled by VRBO the night before we left home and there was nothing open within 150 miles of our destination. Very disappointed. Forced to use a different app for accommodations.

Perfect for multigenerational getaway

We had three generations from teens on up. This home was large enough to offer time away as needed yet roomy enough for much needed family time. Our elderly mother was able to access everything by entering through the back door. The home was stocked well for all cooking needs and had plenty of towels. There was even a dog bowl for our fur baby. The home is dated but comfortable and the views are spectacular. The home does have a well which as stated does have an odor so plan accordingly. The living room and dining room seat six so I would also bring extra chairs if you have eight people.

Would not recommend

Pros: keyless entry so super easy and flexible. Very roomy and lots of space to roam around. The pool table in the basement is a great bonus. They left bottled water for us to use because the water does smell sulphuric, which we expected. We've been to more secluded places on islands that have smellier water. Now onto the cons. This place is quite dirty, there are dust and dirt in the corners, the windows are so dirty that it's hard to see through to enjoy the view. Cutlery and dishes in the cupboard are very dirty, we had to hand wash everything before using them. The master bedroom is smelly, the pillow covers look fine but if you peek inside, you'll see pillows are stained with numerous old yellow stains!! Some bedding were not washed and were still stained! I tried to open the window and the window screen is FULL of dust, it must not have been vacuumed or dusted in years. Wifi didn't work during our entire stay. I tried contacting the local team and all I got was "thank you for contacting us, we will try to find a solution" someone offered to bring us new bedding on the day we check out, huh?! So I told them not to bother. Also, people with kids may wanna know there's a life size Egyptian status in the living room, some of our kids got scared.

Big House with a Great View

We really felt comfortable in this house and we had plenty of room for the whole family to gather. The view of the ocean was spectacular and it had a nice pool table. This is not a fancy house, but it felt like home to us.

Great view, quiet spot

The house was spacious and comfortable. Lots of room for everyone and we enjoyed the pool table in the evenings. The view from the deck was lovely! The house isn't really walkable to the beach, in my opinion, but you're in a great location to drive into one of the towns or beaches nearby. We will absolutely stay here again. A few items of note: the well water is very sulphuric and salty so be prepared if anyone is sensitive to that. There was a supply of bottled water in the house, although I'm not sure if the owners or previous occupants left it. There is a nice amount of various decent quality pots and pans for cooking but a very limited supply of dishes. I would suggest bringing paper plates/ solo cups due to the supply and the fact the what's there has a permanent film on them either due to the water or the dishwasher. Speaking of the dishwasher, be aware it does not lock shut which allows it to be opened as it is running. This is a potential hazard to small children who could be scalded. The owners should have it fixed or replaced. Overall a great stay, and a usual the Vacasa crew were quick to respond and extremely helpful when we reached out to them.

The view from the cabin was amazing! Easy access downtown and to the ocean side! Very spacious cabin to do a lot of things in especially comfortable stay ! Could you some updates in the bathroom shower in the basement!! Pool table needed refurbished on top! Needs new pool sticks ,,,couldn't play pool would have loved to! But overall a nice place to stay!

Absolute worst beach house rental experience

This was the absolute worst beach house rental experience I've ever had. The house it's self is nice and has lots of potential. The view is amazing. But either the owner or the management company don't care for the house very well. All the shower heads/faucets are gross due to the condition of the water. You would think with the known water issue they would care for those things accordingly. They don't it makes showering in the already unappealing water situation even more unappealing. When we arrived at 7pm there was no bottled water in the house like there is supposed to be.Text line said bottled water wasn't part of the amenities. Waited on hold for 30 mins to ask about the water situation and they wondered why we needed bottled water. It says in the know before you go that bottled water is provided for drinking and cooking yet customer service has no idea that it's included or why its needed that's super frustrating. Finally after a 3rd phone call at 1pm the following day we finally got an update that they were bringing water out. The local person was very nice when he finally reached out. The only complaint there was he said he would check in the next day to see if we had enough water still and that didn't happen. Luckily we had bought some our selves when we realized it was such an issue to get it in the first place. House had no extra blankets in it in the the middle of winter and the beds only had a sheet and a very thin blanket on top. Luckily no one needed the pull out couch. The only blanket for it was a crocheted blanket. No extra towels either. When noted this issue they said they provide only what's needed. There wasn't any extra blankets to curl up with on the couch and with kids spills and stuff happen extra things are necessary. It's not like we could just reach out and ask for more. I could only imagine how long it would take to actually get when it took almost a whole day to just get water. No beach decor to make the stay feel homey. House is echoey and not comfy feeling. Found garbage inside and under the couches. Recliner noted as being broken previously is still broken. The kids spilled water on the ground and when wiping it up the ground was very dirty like the floor hadn't been cleaned in a while. We'd only been in the house for an hour at that point. House definitely needs a deep clean. Very disappointed especially with the customer service we received when contacting about these issues. It seems like it's run of the mill that they hear this kind of stuff all the time. Not very apologetic and didn't really seem to care. Will not be staying with this company again when we have received better service with other companies or privately owned beach houses.

Horrible experience

It was a horrible experience we left the property after one night and went to another airbnb. This property was dirty there was trash on the floor when we got there there was broken furniture the toilet seat was not connected to the toilet. Whe I called to complain and ask for my money back I got disconnected and they never called back we have completed reviews and have not heard back from anyone

Needs thorough cleaning inside and out

Windows are so dirty that they obscure the beautiful view, sinks in kitchen and bathrooms barely drain, handrails have mold all over them, the house inside and out needs painting and cleanup desperately. We won't return here next time.

The house could have been cleaned better but I guess for the price can't re a lly complain.. the mummy was creepy.. it's an ocean house were not vacationing in Egypt. Haha my kids did not like the mummy at all. Overall it was a good score for size and price.. loved the view of the ocean from the kitchen.

Best Long vacation rental experience!

This home is nicely way up a steep road right at Boiler Bay on the OR coast. I'm a flat lander so I feel more safe the higher up I am and the view was amazing as we could watch the tides come in and out. We also could get a good walk in as much as we wanted as it was a 30 min walk to head to the Boiler Bay overlook and back. The well water does smell bad but it wasn't a deal breaker as the management supplied with plenty of bottled water for cooking and drinking! This was a working visit and we needed good fast and strong wifi for us both. The wifi at this home was sufficient and one day it did go down and need reset, as home wifi does as time. They were able to get someone out the next day and resest and it was good the rest of the time! We had an amazing visit and hope to repeat it next year too! This home has it all!

Good value and lots of room

I spent four nights here with four teens. The pool table was a bonus. We are not great at the game though! The water has a funky smell & taste, be sure to bring extra bottled water. The only downside was the kitchen equipment. Cupboards are stocked with random things. Once we figured out where the pans we needed were, we washed them and kept them on the counter for next use. Overall, I give this place 4 stars and would definitely stay here again! Thank you!
