We stayed at Villa Filira the last 10 days in march and it was hard leaving such a wonderful place.
It's a great feeling being treated as a 5 star guest in a boutique hotel and in the same time the warmful cretan hospitality makes you feeling like home.
What amazed us:
The welcome on the airport where Roula the owner was waiting for us.
The villa is surrounded by magnificient olives and citrus trees and the different aromatic plants.
The villa has a very high standard and perfectly maintained are the outside areas with a spectacular view over the mountains, the sea and the lovely village of Kolympari.
The 3 terraces let us choose where we wanted to have breakfast or al fresco dining.
The gorgious barbecue- place where we took the aperitif and tasted the local fresh fish on the grill.
Inside, the villa is very tasteful decorated and we won't forget the nice attention for our son a nice pet-dog on his bed. Many thanks!!!
The villa was cleaned and the linen changed twice during our stay of ten days.
The best lamb ever!Roula is a perfect hostess and a great chef and let us taste the cretan cuisine.
I nearly missed to mention the very nice housewine of Villa Filira and the homemade welcome hampers.
A very well composed information and documentation about the island, different excursions and local restaurants.(Great recommandations we started our cretan adventure in the Argentina Restaurant, a local tavern with authentic good food and great family hospitality.)
Many thanks to Roula and Manolis for the perfectly prepared villa and the amazing white Callas Bouquet in the entrance.
When perfection becomes reality and hospitality so easy given it's hard to leave...!
The most wonderful villa we have ever stayed in!
We stayed at Villa Filira 11 nights end of May/ early June and had a really enjoyable stay, many thanks to this stunning villa with all its lovely qualities and attention to detail. The hospitality we received from Roula, Manolis and Gregory exceeded expectations.
The villa was spotless upon arrival - as well as after the cleaning and laundry service twice a week during our stay. We were welcomed with a hamper of delicious homemade treats and local teas. The villa's high qualities are sustained throughout - including the beautiful, bright interior decoration, the amenities, storage, the lovely terraces, the beautiful and well-kept garden and excellent swimming pool. The view from every window and terrace is stunning. We loved collecting fresh fruit and veg from the garden and made good use of the barbecue!
We travelled with small kids and the villa was very suitable for our needs. The pool was excellent with its separated children's area, wide steps and shades. The children also adored the garden toys!
The location was nice, the village of Kolymbari is charming and friendly, we had some excellent meals there from a list of places recommended by Roula. Our daily trips to the bakery and supermarket were conveniently just a couple of minutes drive away. There is a lot to do in the local area and some stunning beaches and landscapes in Western Crete! We only wish we could have stayed longer to discover more and enjoy the luxury of the villa, it was certainly not easy to leave and we can't wait to return!
Where to start, on the whole a great experience and up there with some of the best holidays we have been on. It was an amazing and relaxing experience. On arrival the staff were warm and friendly, Villa Filira was of a very high standard and overlooking the private pool and sea was a bonus. It is a fantastic resort of 2 luxury villas. The cleanliness is brilliant.
A spectacular location in the middle of an olive grove on a hillside overlooking the lovely village of Kolymbari on the pebbly shore of the Bay of Chania. Sprawling sea vistas, looming mountains, but far enough above the bustle of the coast. The house is lovingly designed and appointed by people with real taste and an appreciation of the setting.
A gem in Crete. Beautiful house, extremely well maintained, beautiful furnished and friendly owners. Stay at this villa to relax and enjoy stunning vistas, a private pool and a gourmet kitchen. Visit the nearby fishing village for fresh seafood if you don't feel to cook.
Fantastic villa, with a stunning view on mountains and see. Very nicely decorated, relaxing, well equipped, suitable fro children. Oranges, lemons, olive tree in the garden. Pool is not heated, making it more decorative than useful in Spring, but must be perfect during the hot summers of Crete. Roula is very responsive and has been essential in recommending us unique places (4x4 tours in the White mountains, Organic Olive factory, restaurants, beaches...)! Nicely located to visit West Crete ("Chania Region"). Car is essential.
