Very home like.
We as 13 people stayed in four apartments there was plenty of room and meeting places. Just enough out of the city and close to the train station. To be perfect, like a guest house at your aunts house. Very reasonable with many movies, tv and wifi helped out with downtime. Managers were very helpful and brought fresh flowers to the apartments and they really smelled like flowers.
We will definitely stay there again on our next trip or vacation!!!
We were made to feel extremely welcome and were given loads of useful information about local restaurants, transport, places to see with the children etc... The accommodation was fantastic, super clean and everything we needed. This is an ideal base in the countyside, right next to the canal. Weesp is a lovely place with some fantastic restaurants & a couple of supermarkets, just a 5 min car ride away. The train from Weesp takes you 15 mins straight into Amsterdam Central.
This is a ideal base as you get the best of both worlds. We would definitely come back. Thank you both for making it such a wonderful stay!
Thank for your nice review!
We could live here!
Although we never met Joy, we did meet her father Paul. These pictures don't give this property all the justice it needs. Customer service, attention to detail, proximity to the city, EVERYTHING was great! I hope we have the chance to visit again but if we don't, you definitely should. Weesp is on my mind! Paul and Joy, thank you for doing it right!
Cozy house in a quite place
Lovely place to share your holidays where you can find a quiet place, lovely sunsets and a very friendly host (Joey). The house has everything you need, if I need to recommend somewhere in Netherlands is this beautiful place
Beautiful countryside - first US citizens to stay
The staff was very friendly, but when we asked if there was a public transportation to their place we were told taxi only and it would take 10 minutes. This was incorrect information since the cab was 27 minutes and cost 80€. We could have taken the train and taken a cab from the station, which would have cost us around€20. There was no instructions on how to operate the stove, which resulted in glass shattering all over. Thank goodness, no one was hurt. At the end of our stay, they drove us to the train station, but don't understand why this service wasn't offered at the begining of our stay. I believe the host, my travel companion and I learned a great deal. The town doesn't have credit card services. Not even at the grocery stores. Cash only or a local debit card. Cute town for an afternoon visit.
Thank you for your review. This gives us a good opportunity to inform other guests, especially from the US. We always advise guests who come by plane to take the train to Weesp. From there the taxi costs 15-20 euro to our place. This is in a standard e-mail.
A taxi all the way from the airport is more expensive indeed. We're sorry you misunderstood that part of information.
We are always happy to pick up guests from the train station whenever we can. Sometimes we bring guests to town without charge, just to be kind. Most guests are thankful for a ride. We don't want to be in a position however, that we are expected to be a free cab.
Also important to know is that credit cards or cheques are not as widely accepted in The Netherlands as in the US. Cash machines and parking ticket machines accept Meastro/Mastercard. Payment in shops is in cash or bank cards. We only accept cash for deposit.
The instruction for the stove would be: "Don't close the glass lid when the fire is burning" ;-)
We didn't charge you for the cleaning and replacement of the glass. All in all we hope you still had a good time with us.
Beautiful apartment in a lovely setting
My 6-year-old son and my parents and I had a really wonderful time staying here. The apartment itself is a work of art -- all built by the owners, and every detail is thoughtful and interesting. We liked just spending time in it relaxing and playing cards or reading or talking. We slept well in the great beds and cooked good meals in the kitchen. The whole property and surrounding area is lovely.
Melanie and Paul are very welcoming and friendly and gave us good advice on places to see. Weesp, which is just a few minutes away by bike or car, is quiet and pretty, and we made several day trips to interesting spots (Marken, Den Hague).
We loved staying here, and recommend it highly!
