Just over an hour from Athens, this is a great location to access beaches and many of the historical sites that are well worth a visit - plenty to do within 1 hour's drive. Very quiet location but only 2 minutes to drive to the local town which has plenty of cafes, restaurants and a good supermarket. The owner was very welcoming, friendly and had great English and has some very simple but good guides to local places worth visiting.

We are a family of 5, with boys aged 10, 12 and 14 and Salty villa offered a good balance of lazy days by the pool and easy access to local restaurants and historical sites when we wanted a busier day out. The Villa itself is very spacious, is well furnished and equipped and is very clean (spotless when we arrived and new linen delivered every 3 days was unexpected but very appreciated). My boys spent ages in and around the pool - it is very deep which is great for kids who can swim well but I would be cautious if you have young children; most of the pool is more than 6' deep - but for us it was fantastic. The inside is well shaded and therefore cool during the day (we visited end of June into July) but there is also very effective air conditioning if you need it - which we did an night. Also of note, part of the area around the pool (under the balcony) has shade all day whilst part has the sun all day - great to cool off or sun yourself as you want and shows very thoughtful design. Will definitely consider coming back again.
