Thanks for your lovely review Uli and Sandra! Really pleased you liked our cottage, the garden and the village. Please come and see us again one day! You would be very welcome!
Kind regards, Jonathan and Cate

Comfortable and very clean!!
The cottage was perfect for a week, it’s very well equipped and comfortable. The garden is beautiful and really made the visit, to sit out in the evening with a glass of something cold!!
Thanks for leaving your lovely review of Gulliver's Cottage. Very pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Our neighbours have said that you were perfect visitors to the village - please come again!

Nice and cozy with some perks
Arrived small car need and had one so win as parking spot will not fit anything bigger so good start. Cottage is cozy and nice for 2 it has good entertainment extras such as dvds, Amazon fire stick and the fire. All round a good cottage It just lacked a washing machine for two weeks.
Delightful place to stay at any time of the year
We were impressed with how helpful the owners, Jonathan and Cate were before our stay at their cottage, with useful information about the place and things to do in the area. On arrival we were pleased to see how clean and well maintained the cottage was and the milk in the fridge and complimentary local biscuits , tea and coffee were very welcomed after the journey. We settled in quickly and felt at home , with the log burner making the cottage very cosy in the evenings. We were lucky with mild weather during our stay and went out exploring the area every day of the week , enjoying the beautiful coast line and country side, there is so much to see and do, even in November! Went to Lulworth Cove and walked over to Durdle Door on a blustery day and Chesil beach and across to Portland another , both spectacular in very different ways. The beach and cliffs of West Bay, just a short drive away was a favourite, being so close but also so beautiful with crashing waves. Went fossil hunting at both Charmouth and Lyme Regis a few times and visited the museum at Lyme which had a quaint feel that fitted the charm of the town. In the evening we watched one of the many DVD films at the cottage, A French Lieutenants Woman which was great after being there that day. There were lots of DVDs, games and books to choose from which we enjoyed in the evenings. The beds were very comfortable, including the bunk beds which my husband and I had, and even though the bathroom is small we all, 4 adults, managed perfectly fine. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked some great meals in the evening as there was every thing you needed. The garden was very peaceful and private and as it was so mild we could enjoy it in the mornings before going out. I even picked a few sprigs of the herbs growing in the garden to add to a meal, which was very nice!
We particularly enjoyed our visit to Abbotsbury , a pretty village just inland from Chesil beach with a chapel on the hill overlooking the sea. Even though things like the Swannery and the National Trust buildings in the area are closed in November, like Thomas Hardy's home we still enjoyed so much else the area had to offer, but it has made us want to return to Dorset another time of the year when every thing is open to visitors. We would definitely stay at this cottage again and highly recommend it to others, for comfort and good value and great service from Jonathan and Cate - Thank you!
Thanks Esther and Chris for such a detailed review - we are very pleased you had such a wonderfully action packed stay in Dorset and that the cottage was to your liking. Please do come back and stay again - it would be a pleasure to have you back!
