We stayed in this beautiful historic farmhouse during our stay to see family and enjoy the IceFest in Chambersburg. First thing I would like to say is that Suzanne was very friendly and easy to work with when we were making the reservations for her farmhouse. Upon our arrival she stopped by to introduce herself and to tell us a few things about the house. My son and I loved the charm and warmth that his home had to offer. The house was built in the 1800's and one can imagine that there is quite a bit of history to the home. The 18" thick walls with the deep windows harkened back to the era the house was built. Suzanne did a wonderful job restoring the home and we enjoyed the modern amenities the house offered. Everything was clean and we were made to feel at home with nice touches that were provided such as coffee and snacks. The beds were comfortable and we had very good nights sleep during our stay. With all the comforts that this home offered we felt that it was a bargain compared to staying in a hotel. The home is convenient to Lincoln Hwy and Interstate 81 which made getting around easy. This is a great place to stay and a convenient starting point to all the area has to offer. We would definitely love the opportunity to stay here again and hopefully in the near future we can.
My family rented this old farmhouse for two days over Thanksgiving this year. It was a beautiful, clean, and tastefully decorated space to hold a Thanksgiving meal with family (small children included) and to enjoy a coffee/dessert function with more relatives afterwards. Suzanne was very hospitable and offered to accommodate us in any way she could. We chose the location because of its proximity to extended family, but it is conveniently located off of 81 and Rt 30 for those wishing to explore this area more. The only thing I hadn't realized is that the house is smack up against Falling Springs road, but thankfully there was little traffic and a huge stone patio on the opposite side of the house where the kids could play safely. Not to mention, there is a big field across from the house where the kids enjoyed playing ball. We will certainly consider coming back!
Just loved staying here! Everything is so nice! Comfortable, clean and loved the area! Easy access to family and all the antiques that we love to shop for!!!
My husband and I recently took my 80-something year-old parents and stayed a week at this lovely home. Suzanne is a charming hostess who responded immediately when the furnace wouldn't come on the night we arrived. She had snacks waiting in the kitchen and brought us fresh corn-on-the-cob the next day! When I e-mailed to ask if there was a crock pot in the kitchen, she said there wasn't but promptly bought one! This house had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the sunroom and outdoor patio in the evenings. This house was centrally located for all the day-trips we made: Gettysburg, Harper's Ferry, Antiedam, Hershey, and Lancaster County. We would come "home" each evening, enjoy our crock pot ready meal, visit and rest, then head out again the next morning. We loved our stay on Falling Creek Road!
I can honestly say this was the best home that we have ever rented and we have rented a number of places in our travels. The home was very tastefully decorated, very clean and they thought of everything that you would need, even snacks and bottled water in the fridge. I loved the way the house was decorated with the antique furniture. We felt very welcomed. I love to see the older homes refurbished. I just can't say enough about the house and the owners. Suzanne was just wonderful. Thanks again for all the fresh tomatoes. Loved them. I definitely know where I will stay when we revisit Gettysburg.
This home was well appointed and supplied with everything a family could need for a one week stay.
Suzanne could not have been more helpful.
