Mother's day weekend success!!
Had a wonderful Mother's day weekend. Very relaxing and quiet....
It was a pleasure hosting your group. I am pleased you had an extra special Mother's Day. Thank you for choosing my cabin and for leaving it in good condition.
Just what I needed!
The whole experience was worry free and ideal. My contact Trudy was as accommodating as anyone could be. I will definitely do this again.
Peaceful, Accommodating, and Helpful
We found the Cabin in the Woods at the perfect time, as we began construction on our new home. Trudy greeted and accommodated our need for a pet friendly place and long-term rental. The Cabin is small, but with the open kitchen and living space, we had plenty of room to move-in and feel comfortable for 6 months!
We asked if washer/dryer connections were available and she remodeled the downstairs room - POURED FRESH CONCRETE - so we could hookup our washer and dryer for the length of our stay.
Trudy power-washed the outside areas, sprayed for insects, had the lawn cut, brought extra heaters during the 18-degree nights of the winter, and offered to bring us candles and flashlights when the power went out during a hail storm. She definitely made our stay worry-free.
The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Birdwatching is abundant, as well as other creatures-BEWARE OF COPPERHEADS. We stumbled across 2 in the neighborhood. We met several neighbors on our afternoon walks, one of whom graciously helped us jump our car battery when it died.
Overall, our stay was peaceful and worry-free thanks to Trudy and the Cabin in the Woods.
Thank you so much for the nice review. I'm glad I could offer you a temporary home during the construction phase of your new "home". I really appreciate your leaving the cabin clean and in good condition.
It was a great place to stay away from everything but not to far away from the store if needed to go. Will rent again
Fun for a weekend
The cabin was pretty much what I had in mind. The things I would have changed was having extra toilet paper, more pest control, maybe pressure washing the outside of the house (TONS of spider webs and eggs)...I understand it's in the woods but I still don't like cockroaches, spiders and fire ants. There was a cockroach on the wall in the kitchen next to the stove when I was cooking and my son stepped in a fire ant hill right near the patio and had 42 ant bites on his ankles. I just wish the yard would have been treated and pest control would have been used in and around the house. Other than that it was cozy and charming and Trudy did a good job making me feel welcomed and even waived check out time so we could stay longer.
Thank you for pointing out the problems you encountered at my property. It is my utmost priority to keep the cabin safe and welcoming for my guests. I clean the cabin each week and have not seen any insects but will arrange for an exterminator immediately. No one wants to see bugs especially a roach.
I am so sorry your son was bitten by ants. I have been spot treating the ant hills. That evidently needs to be extended to the entire yard.
And about those pesky spiders. I sweep down the webs the morning a guest is expected to arrive. Those darn spiders are very industrious and just keep spinning those webs. You are so right about pressure washing. That has been on my to do list for a while. I'll put that at the top of the list and then spray and insecticide to try to hold them back for a while.
Thank you again for visiting my property. I hope you will consider coming again.
Very private, and great place if you plan on being on the water for most of your visit. Boat ramp close and after a day of fishing great place to come back to and enjoy your evenings in the woods
