Great Location - Wonderful City
This Apt. is in a wonderful location which allows you to enjoy the sights and people of St. John's. Many restaurants and music based pubs are within easy walking. Nick made accessing the Apt. very easy and the Apt. was exactly as described. We would definitely recommend the Apt. for anyone looking to enjoy St. John's NL
Unit location great, but Nick and Daphne, not so great.
Stayed 12 days in September 2017. Key to unit NOT in mailbox when we arrived at noon and it took SEVERAL phone calls before we got either Nick or Daphne to answer us via phone. They were out of town for weekend. Luckily we had a couple who we knew in St. John's that helped us during this stressful time of being locked out of the place we paid in advance to stay for 12 days, standing on the steps with suitcases; unable to get inside. Our friends were SO embarrassed at the way we were treated, as usually Newfoundlanders are the nicest, kindest, most helpful people in the world.
NEVER saw Nick, even though he claims he is always available. Only saw Daphne through peep hole when she knocked on our door at 9:15 am day of our check out to ask time we planned to be out. Seemed pretty pushy after we didn't get into our unit till 4:30 pm, when check in was supposed to be noon.
Unit was NOT cleaned from previous renter, all laundry needed done, bedroom & bathroom, floors not cleaned etc. Maid claimed she didn't know people were moving in. Really? Nick assumed maid had done her job. Poor communication. Nick/Daphne gave us incorrect code for internet. Only 2 coffee cups in unit. Really? Maid brought 2 more from another unit. I have pictures of dirty dishes we found in the cupboards. Gross. Hope by now they have removed the huge wasp nest located by A/C unit on deck of 3rd floor. They only supplied 1 roll of toilet paper, so I suggest you find a store shortly after you move in. You will need other cleaning supplies too.
Nick offered to buy us dinner at a local restaurant to try and make up for all the screw ups. Instead, I requested a gift card - which he agreed to - and he even asked me my address to mail it - but I have reminded him 3 times and I still have NOT received anything. So renter beware - the unit is lovely (when it is clean) and it is in a great location, but Nick & Daphne don't really care about you or the unit, or they'd vastly improve their ways. They need to take the time to see what needs repaired, replaced, etc as well as check what kind of job the maid is doing.
This was our 1st time using VRBO and we were very disappointed with our experience. We have only used AirBnB once and it was totally wonderful.
Clean and modern
Fantastic downtown location in the bustle of it all, bedroom was very quiet. Didn’t hear a peep from the neighbours. Clean and modern design.
Ideal Location in St. John's
Very comfortable unit , clean and modern with good kitchen appliances and washer and dryer. We got good response to our questions. Suggest Nick gets a few small pots and a few smaller frying pans. Only complaint third floor walk up with luggage and grocery hard for older people and parking a bit challenging. Choose meter without gauge on it when you can find one but you also have to be able to park well parallel. We enjoyed our stay for first visit !

My husband and I spent a lovely week in this beautiful condo. Upon arrival the first thing we noticed was that it was immaculate! Very nicely decorated and it felt very light and airy. The kitchen was well equipped with up to date appliances. There is plenty of storage in the bedroom and we found the bed to be very comfortable. The bathroom also had lots of storage and there were plenty of towels for the two of us. Water pressure in the shower was a bit weak but totally expected in a building right down town. Having a washer and dryer was definitely an added bonus! The wi fi is fast and we never had an issue with it.
The location is perfect!!! Within walking distance to many excellent restaurants, the harbour and bars. Yes, parking can be an issue but as we were out driving most of the day we really didn't find that it impacted us. If you can find a meter with the head removed then you can park for free. We were able to get one of these the majority of the time when we returned from touring the island.
Nic was wonderful to deal with. We had his cell number if we had any questions or needed any help. I would highly recommend this lovely rental for your stay in St. John's. We are hoping to return next summer and really hoping to stay here again!
