We found the unit to be comfortable and very clean. Would recommend to anyone looking for centrally located accommodation. There is shopping, wide variety of eating establishments with easy walking distance. Four within a few feet. Although, located on a busy downtown street the unit was very quiet. There is no parking but there is parking garage just a short distance away, there is also meter parking in front of the building.
Arrived in St. John's on September 6, 2016 after spending the first week on the west and north coasts of NL. We were very pleased with all of our accommodations to this point and 280 Duckworth St. Unit 302 was no exception. The apartment is well located in the old part of St. John's with many restaurants and various attractions within walking distance.
The unit was exceptionally clean and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable and the building is very quiet. My wife and I were extremely happy with our choice. We picked this apartment based on location, pictures, reviews and price which were accurately indicated in the listing.
The only minor challenge was the metered parking on the street. Parking is free at night and on weekends. between 8 am and 6 pm, the meter has to be fed every 2 hours. A suggestion would be offer a parking pass for any of the side streets.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in St. John's and would most definitely stay at 280 Duckworth St. again when visiting the next time.
My wife and I visited St. John's for a week and thoroughly enjoyed staying at 280 Duckworth. Nick was very helpful, although since the building has been completely renovated using first class standards, we never needed assistance. We actually thought we were the first ones to ever use the apartment since everything was perfect and clean! The building is very quiet; you never hear the neighbors. It's located within walking distance of everything you'd want to see or do in St. John's.
We had a wonderful week in St John's, so much to do and see. The condo is well maintained, beautifully decorated and in a great location in downtown. Many, many restaurants a short walk away. The highlight for us was visiting "The Rooms", easy walking distance away. Suggestion would be having helpful visitor information and cooking stables left in the condo. Great time in St John's!
gorg eous apt.in the heart of downtown St.John's. Nick always answered my calls promptly. Loved the deck " in the trees" ! Thought the area would be noisy but it wasn't. Would definitely stay there again ! Thanks Nick - see ya next time !
The best surprise is no surprise right?
280 Duckworth is everything you see in the pictures, more importantly it is with in walking distance of EVERYTHING in St Johns. We had a great stay and the owners were quite responsive to our needs. Great communications with the Owners.
Note that there is only plates, cutlery, glassware and cookware there. Laundry, dish soap and dishwasher detergent are supplied. But nothing else is on the shelves
