The owners, and their parents who live locally did everything possible to ensure we took full advantage of the facilities and their knowledge of what to do and where to go.
Giovanna and Gavino went the extra mile with greeting us on arrival supplying a welcome pack and offering their assistance during our stay,
Highly recommended---we will be back!!
This was the third and final week of our Sardinian summer holiday. It wasn't the easiest place to find initially as we thought it can't be along here as the house numbers didn't seem to really follow in a logical order. However, keep going and trust your instincts and there it is. It's absolutely the best looking and best kept accommodation in the area.
We were greeted by the owners' parents Gavino and Giovanna who are the nicest and kindest people you could ever meet. They speak very little English, my Italian is restricted to the holidaymaker's basics but we quickly discovered that we could converse in Spanish. They are both fluent and mine is OK but very rusty as I'm out of practice. They showed us around the immaculately presented and spotlessly clean apartment and then presented us with a box of delicious local pastries and a chilled bottle of local prose co type wine in ice chilled glasses. This was such a lovely gesture and is a cut above anything else we experienced in our other properties. Giovanna and Gavina also provided us with fresh milk and bottled water, assorted fresh fruit and even some beautiful fresh flowers. They called their son Roberto who spoke to us in English and he gave us some information on the property and region and between them all they clearly want to give the very best experience possible which most definitely did.
We saw Gavina and Giovanna a couple of times more throughout the week and it was lovely to talk to them. They clearly want to ensure you are having a great time and nothing is spoiling it.
Lu Bagnu is a good base to discover this part of the island and we did as much as we could. It was great to go somewhere relatively unspoilt with very few British or other rowdy visitors. The scenery and coast are lovely but after being in the east, not as spectacular as what we had before.
We were sad to leave and as we said our goodbyes to Giovanna and Gavina, they gave us yet another lovely box of local pastries which we have enjoyed at home. The accommodation and this lovely couple absolutely made it special for us and their kindness and enthusiasm is genuine. We shall miss them both and thank them and Roberto for a wonderful stay. Book this accommodation with confidence.
We spent two weeks in apartment Mark in Lu Bagnu. Roberto's parents Gavino and Giovanna were welcoming us with sparkling wine and local sweets and cookies. The appartment has a very good location at the hill with views to the sea and the meadow (where horse, donkey and goat where spending their summer days). The appartment is situated at a quiet corner of the residence.
Lu Bagnu is a perfect spot to explore whole northern Sardinia - we drove to la Pelosa beach near Stintino, to Sassari and Alghero, to Palau where we took a ferry to Isola Maddalena. Castelsardo is only a few kilometres away and has many lovely restaurants. Valle della Luna and the old olive trees of "olivastri millenari" are also worth a trip.
Giovanna and Gavino were taking really good care of us and were always available.
We chose Sardinia as the location for our honeymoon and didn’t regret it. We were greeted by Gavino and Giovanna and an array of delicacies! They had even decorated the apartment with flowers and traditional wedding treats upon hearing we were newlyweds.
The apartment is modern with a lovely private garden and beautiful views (including the horse and donkey!) We were in a perfect location in order to wander down to local restaurants, bars and the beach.
We were provided with excellent recommendations of trips and restaurants to visit whilst in Sardinia. The local markets and Asinara National Park are a must!
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying here and will no doubt be returning again soon!
After a long journey from Belgium we arrived late afternoon at apartment Mark where Roberto's parents gave us a wonderful welcome with bubbles and sweets. The apartment is really clean with a great pool in a very quiet and magnificent environment. The views are lovely! With any questions we could contact Roberto or his parents. Even without a knowledge of the Italian language it was always nice to speak to them. We stayed one week and visited Castelsardo (really beaytiful), Sassari, Stintino, Alghero and Capo Testo. The kids also had a wonderful time. Maybe one day, we will be back :)
First visit to Sardinia and we stayed in Appartamento Mark, we arrived late on Friday night and were met by Roberto's beautiful parents who showed us around apartment and very generously had a welcome pack consisting of champage, fruit, cakes. The apartment is very new and very clean, great garden and terrace with fabulous views out to sea, sun in evening with great sunsets. The village of Lu Bagnu is about a 10 minute walk with nice restaurants and lovely blue flag beach. Castelsardo is a beautiful scenic town and would thoroughly recommend Bagu Bagu for a special dinner. Roberto's parents were very considerate and always ensured we had no problems.
