All other reviews are pretty accurate and spot on. The house is exactly as described and pictured on VRBO. Owner was excellent to work with, very responsive and professional. We arrived late on Wednesday and the few items in fridge were much appreciated. The house has a great layout for many guests, each bedroom/bath is pretty spaced out; the penthouse upstairs/patio area is also nice and private. The neighborhood is very quiet and we rarely saw anyone else. Pool and outdoor areas were great and we ended up spending most of the time outside. I agree with the other reviewer about wishing pool was heated, but for the kids on the trip, they were just fine and swam daily. The house could use a little updating but for the price and location, we were very satisfied. The furnishings are not over the top fancy so we felt very comfortable especially with 4 kids ages 7-10.We found ourselves staying in and cooking every night enjoying the amazing views this house offers. You are close to downtown Scottsdale. Ideas for the area...Thursday Artwalk in Scottsdale, Camelback Mountain hike, Cave Creek Outfitters for horseback riding- then after we had dinner at Pinnacle Peak Patio to complete the cowboy experience. Goldfields Ghost Town with kids (drive Apache Trail while in the area). Closest grocery was AJs (a bit pricey but very high quality). Overall, I would highly recommend this house.

We took our kids for 4 nights and couldn't have had more fun. Had to be a record number of cannonballs off the diving board! The combination of the incredible views (incredible is an understatement) and the great pool made it for us. Price was good, and everything was close.
I saw some comments complaining about the smartphone/Bluetooth lock. I thought it was convenient and easy. Just showed up, and the vacation started immediately.
We rented this property for a guys golf trip and we couldn't have asked for a better house, amenities, and location. House was well maintained throughout and the owner accommodated our early arrival!! 4 bedrooms plus a penthouse guest sweet with kitchen and bathroom upstairs with a huge deck overlooking the whole valley!
The property is truly gorgeous and breathtaking and is very well up-kept. We had 12 people and everyone stayed very comfortably for the four nights. The property was very clean and was perfect for a vacation. Our only concern was with the lock - we had many issues with the lock not working when we needed it to, but that could also be user error. Overall, great experience and would definitely go back and recommend this place!
The most spectacular view possible from the upper deck and stunning views from nearly every room. By day the entire Paradise Valley comes into view with Camelback Mountain centered.
The house is over 5,000 s.f. and the upper bedroom and deck is a suite onto itself and very quiet (unless kids are playing in the pool below).
There is no street noise at all, being far enough away from any main drags.
Big kitchen with functioning high-end appliances and a lovely outdoor covered patio to enjoy the view, pool and yard.
The owner was not very responsive to our questions. He took four days to get us the WiFi code and answer other questions.
The driveway is very steep and either you turn around in the garage or you back-in or back out of the steep driveway. This system would be much better if there was a garage opener but he has chosen not to provide one for security reasons (see below).
The house has NEST thermostats that are wonderful learning devices but with a flow of different tenants they behaved erratically. Not easy to override without the manual or other instructions.
There was no binder to cover the important items like WiFi, electrical, garage rules, where the extra garbage bags were located, etc. This information was apparently to be in the Home Away app but all sections of that app had nothing loaded when we arrived. Great idea but not yet implemented well and very non-intuitive. The August House app unlocks the door with NFC or WiFi and works OK but then the door automatically locks leaving others to knock. Make sure you get the code sent to ALL in your party or you will find this very inconvenient.
The garage can be opened by entering the house, walking around to the garage, and pushing the opener on the wall to the right of the door. Then you can put your car in the garage. When you leave you have to return through the house to close the garage. If the owner were to install the August House app lock on the garage door as well as the front door then a garage door opener could be used and this hassle would be avoided.
I will say the over attention to security left us feeling less secure, not more. This is a high-end neighborhood way off the main drag and up a steep driveway which seems secure without the benefit of automatically locking front doors and chained side gates.
Over all we had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay. Fix and document a few things and this would be a very high end experience.
