Great hospitality and amazing location!
My husband and I really enjoyed celebrating our 18th anniversary at this wonderful property! The owner, Connie, was easy to get a hold of and helped with any questions we had while we were there and in a very timely manner, even my silly questions, like how to use the keurig lol. We would definitely stay at this property again. It is in a great location, we were able to walk to all of the attractions that we wanted to see, besides the Alligator Farm (which is a must if you are planning a trip to St. Augustine!!) All of the nearby restaurants were amazing, and in walking distance! We didn't have any problem with parking near the property either, which is one of my biggest worries while traveling. Thank you so much Connie for making our first trip to St. Augustine a great one, we will be returning soon for sure! :)
We absolutely loved staying here. It was everything that we needed. Within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the trolley. I highly recommend staying here and will definitely stay here again.
Best best for comfort and convenience!
My husband and I just completed our stay at Key Lime Oasis, Apartment A., and we have nothing but praise for this unit and its amenities. It is close to everything, so you can walk and never pay for parking. There are many incredible dining options nearby as well as a grocery store within a short drive if you choose to bring food in. The well outfitted, modern kitchen has plenty of counter space if you do choose to cook meals. The bathroom is beautiful and spacious, and the bed is extremely comfortable. Connie is available, easy to reach, and eager to make your stay all you hope it to be. You can't go wrong choosing this as your home away from home. Thanks Connie for providing us such a beautiful resting place for our vacation!
A great little getaway
My husband and I chose to stay in St.Augustine for our “baby moon.” If you’ve ever been to the town you know that its known for its history and character.
The Keylime Oasis is a 5 minute walk from Saint George Street. The area is very safe and family friendly.
We chose The Keylime Oasis for its character and charm, and when we walked in it felt like home away from home. We stayed in Unit A. Which has a great front porch where I started each day enjoying my morning coffee.
Connie has the apartment set up in a very welcoming way, with warm lighting, soft music, a bottle of wine (which my husband enjoyed) and overall great ambiance. There is a welcome binder that has all of the detailed information and instructions on WiFi, Use of the smart TV, recommended restaurants and much more. There is a parking sticker to place in your car for reserved parking across the street (worse case you might have to walk a couple of blocks if the town is busy, but we had no issues- and st. Augustine is known to be crowded during town events and the time of year).
The apartment was super clean, with bottled water, coffee and toiletries for our use. The bathtub was super relaxing, especially at 6.5 months pregnant after a day of walking around.
We highly recommend staying at Keylime Oasis and plan to return at some point in the future
This was a great place to stay. The location was walkable to everything in historic St. Augustine. The apartment was well equipped and comfortable, providing for a wonderful stay. We hope to return and highly recommend this rental to others.
Some information that should be posted in the listing
This listing fails to mention that it is part of a house that has two rentals on the bottom floor and the owner living on the top floor. This rental is on the bottom floor. If you don't mind being woken up at 5:00am everyday to the owner stomping her feet, and dragging god knows what across the floor, or hearing the other tenants through the wall then this place might work out for you.
Some things every place you travel and stay should have is cable TV and parking, This place has neither. The rental guide in the unit says there are reserved parking spaces just outside for you to park in and you have a parking permit to hang on your mirror. Those spaces were not available during our trip. We had to park two blocks away.
When we arrived, there was a lock box on one of the front doors to this unit. Once inside I noticed that the other front door was open by about 3 inches. I shut it and the only lock on it was a slide lock, where as the other door had a bolt lock, and a night lock so that no one can force the door open. The unit simply isn't secure. The door in the kitchen could easily be forced open with a bump and someone is in your temporary personal space. I called Connie, the owner instantly to let her know about this around 4:50pm and she never called me back that evening. In fact the next morning i had to go through the VRBO website to create a fake request to send her a "ASK THE OWNER" message and then she called me. She was very condescending and talked down to me when I expressed my concerns about her place and the problems I had with it. She admitted to leaving the door open hours prior to us getting there. She claimed you could get over the air channels on the TV, we could not. She lived right upstairs and didn't offer to come down to look at the TV's. She said they had Netflix, we tried the living room TV for that and the Netflix message said Connie's password was incorrect. If indeed this place has those amenities then they should be checked that they are working before each guest arrives.
The no parking "loading" driveway next to the house is tiny, my Accord barely fit in it the doors on one side could be opened the other side was blocked by bushes. If you have a SUV you would not be able to unload. The street is only wide enough for one car to pass,
We ran out of hot water in the shower on day two and day 3, my guess is the whole house shares a hot water heater. I don't recommend this unit or owner
I am truly sorry that you had a bad experience with my property and with me. I hate that I didn’t know you had called me the night you got in, when I got your message the next morning I called you immediately and apologized. My sound was off my phone and I didn’t realize it until your message. That was an anomaly - i usually do respond very quickly to my guests as other feedback will attest.
I would gladly have checked your televisions for you but frankly when I spoke to you, you frightened me. You were so angry that the door was open. It was a mistake I had made and I apologized for it. As far as parking is concerned, generally parking is available directly across the street but occasionally, especially with Nights of Lights, it’s busy. When I spoke to you the next morning I told you there was a space directly across the street available and you chose not to move your car. That surprised me because you said that you wanted it close to keep an eye on it.
The televisions are ‘smart’, occasionally guests change the settings. After you left I checked the televisions, one got 21 local stations, the other 12, both got Netflix. Cable costs over $100 per month per apartment, in two years of constant vacation rental bookings, you’re the second person to express disappointment. If I got cable, I’d have to charge my guests more to cover the cost, based on feedback, I didn’t get it.
I don’t get up at 5am, I’m curious about the noise you heard. The upstairs is carpeted.
I am sorry that you were unhappy. I would have made it right...
