The Sage Cottage at Chevy Chase Farm

Our Store & Greenhouse
We have a farm store across the street and have fresh seasonal vegetables, meats, eggs and ice. We also have a large green house with plants, flowers and bushes year round.

Enjoy a grass-fed beef burger from our farm on the grill while sipping your favorite beverage around a beautiful brick fire pit.

We are a fully functioning cattle farm raising 100% grass-fed beef, pork, and Free Range Chicken Eggs. Our meats and eggs are available if you'd like and will be in your cottage when you arrive. Please look at our website for options, and send us a quick message to make arrangements.

Grill & Firepit
The firepit is a great way to relax under the stars. Enjoy our grass-fed Beef using the custom-built grill. Plenty of wood and charcoal in the shed right on the deck, and your first fire is ready to light.

Parties
Parties and gatherings of any size beyond guests staying at the cottage are prohibited.

Electronics
The cottage is equipped with TV.

Farm Walks
We have over two miles of graveled walking trails on our farm. You will have access to the entire farm for walking during your stay. We have two beautiful ponds and plenty of nature amidst the rolling hills. Also, there are pigs, horses, chickens, and cows on-site, and you will see them while walking.

Biking
If you bring a bike, you can easily ride along a sleepy country road to the river to the river to the river. You are welcome to ride your bike on our trails.

Cleanliness
We keep the cottage exceptionally clean. The house is on a private lot, which gives you 100% privacy during your stay. The laundry/mudroom is oversized, and extended stays come in handy.

Horses
We allow horse boarding during your stay, which can be arranged for a different rate. In addition, there are plenty of trails to ride your horse on and trailer parking on the farm. Please inquire about our rates.

Single Bed
The single bed is located in Master bedroom. Its a fold up bed which can be placed in dining room area.

Our neighborhood is on a quiet road near other farms. The cottage is located on a sleepy country road that you can ride a bike on safely. We are minutes from the James River. The area is rural and you can see Massanutten Mountain in the distance.

Scottsville and Lake Monticello are both twenty minutes away with restaurants and shopping.

You will need a car to drive to local restaurants in Scottsville, Lake Monticello, or Charlottesville, Virginia. Uber is available as well as private driving companies for winery tours.

Single bed in living room is a pull out twin bed.

Scottsville, a little nearby river town, is very friendly with local restaurants, river tubing, and kayaking. Walk to the lake, hiking trails, the river, museum, brewery, tavern, and restaurants. It's about 20 miles from Yogaville in Buckingham and UVA in Charlottesville and only a short drive to many of the local wineries. See our guidebook for more info on wineries and things to do.
