3/1 to 3/31/19 good lobby, pool good( although pool needs some minor repairs), beach/Pier awesome.
Good rental. Corridors needs new rugs, elevator broke down twice but they had 3. Room dark wood. window and bedfaced the street not the beach.. felt safe. Lobby people good. Thanx
Thank you for your review. The resort will have a renovation in 2019 & 2020 including the suites and the hallways. With your room assignment, did only the bed face the street? The balcony should not directly face the street. But instead provide you with a view of the ocean from the side of the building.
Dirty, smelly, disturbing
I was pleasantly surprised when I first walked in, looked just like the pictures, very nice, some what updated, then you got in the elevator, dirty fingerprints everywhere, unappealing. Then the hall way smelled disgusting, our room keys were a joke our whole trip I think we had to get a new one at least 10x our room was filthy couch and bedding had stains all over it. Found small hairs on the shower heads, the tiles in the shower are falling apart, , the porch was rusted and dirty, the bed stand was falling apart, and then the most disturbing part was I had walked downstairs to purchase some snacks (they need someone else to help at the starcbucks stand, waiting for a coffee or anything was at least 15-25 minute wait and it was not the one employees fault was very nice and going as fast as she could) only to see and hear the concierge make disgusting licking noises into the phone on my way back, he saw that I saw him and immediately hung the phone up, I felt so uncomfortable I could see him staring at me in the mirror as I was walking to the elevator. I have never felt so disturbed before. My husband and I have had some amazing Airbnb’s so we gave this a try for a very last minute trip and the pictures made it look somewhat appealing for the cost but if we didn’t pay upfront I would of found and stayed somewhere else immediately.
Please accept my sincere apologies that you were unhappy with your stay. I am very sympathetic to guests who have an unpleasant experience and I always try to do everything in my power to improve a negative traveler experience. I'm also an avid traveler and customer service is one of the most important aspects of traveling; especially when something goes wrong. I want to make sure travelers know that it's very important to contact us or resort staff immediately after you experience an issue; especially with the type of issues you described within this review. Unfortunately, you did not attempted to contact anyone (myself or the front desk) about any issues during your stay regarding the "filthy room", the "bedding with stains" that you slept in for 4-nights, the shower you used with tile "falling apart" and the "rusted and dirty" balcony railing (which sounds like a safety hazard). These things sound terrible to deal with for 4 nights. I'm not trying to say your review may be overstated but it's just unfortunate that you didn't contact anyone about it until I followed up with you to ask you for a review. In one of your replies, you said that you "expect compensation". There are staff on property who can address concerns and issues immediately. Additionally, we would have attempted to switch your room assignment. We performed due diligence by following up with you after your stay, contacting the resort regarding your issues, and following up with you with the responses I received from the resort. I am very sorry that your stay was unsatisfactory and I wish you had a pleasant experience at this resort. While this resort may receive mixed reviews on other travel sites (mostly from guests who stayed in the "classic" room type), the majority of my guests are satisfied with their room assignment, the cleanliness, the resort itself, and the location.
We loved our stay at Newport Beach Resort!
We really enjoyed our stay!! Check in was easy. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool was warm and enjoyable. We also enjoyed hanging out at the pool bar. The beach was beautiful!! We will be back!!

We had a wonderful time staying at this location. It was great to have the beach, pool, food & drinks, & a spa all at one location. The property was clean and the overall process was smooth and easy!!

Thank you for your review. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay. I apologize the elevators were slow. It's usual for the elevators to take longer than expected during check-out time on Saturdays and Sundays. But they should have typical usage at all other times.
