This property was exactly as depicted and reviewed by others. It also has the best equipped kitchen of any vacation rental home we have ever experienced - so if you plan to cook - you will not be disappointed. This home is close to Poipu beach, shopping, golf and not too far from some good hiking.

Poipu hideaway is found in a quiet neighborhood north of Poipu beach. The exterior and interior design is modern with clean rectangular lines throughout each element including the electrical outlet covers which are oriented in horizontal fashion. For me the theme suggests lounging and relaxation which we attempted to do to the fullest extent allowed by local law and customs.
Top Floor: The kitchen, which is open to the adjacent living room, a small almost invisible window let's light in from the east casting a long narrow strip of sunlight across the opposite walls. The kitchen was well stocked with any needed cookware, glasses, and silverware.
We make several meals in the kitchen and dined both at the long (yes you guessed it) rectangular counter and at the recessed table. The grill is conveniently located just steps from the kitchen through a sliding door on the south patio, which patio wraps around to the front (east) side of the house.
The family room had plenty of couch space and a ridiculously large wall mounted TV on which we watched the Olympics almost every night. We maintained a Kardashian free TV throughout our stay but all of the atrocities of cable TV were available. Electrical outlets were conveniently located on the base area of the couch for device charging.
The upstairs master bedroom closet had plenty of hangers and shelf space for our clothing. The king size bed was comfortable. There is an AC stand alone unit in the upstairs master that we used the first night only. After our adjustment to the humidity we just opened all the windows through the house and let the breeze keep us cool especially through the large sliding patio door. There was an industrial strength super blaster fan if we needed it but we did not.
The yoga room is adjacent to the upstairs master on the northeast corner of the house and has sliding door access to the patio. There is a bed in this room and we asked for a pack and play using this space for our 20 month old baby/toddler/tiny terror. We kept a small fan pointing at her through the night to keep her cool.
The kids room has two twin beds and is also on the top floor in the northwest corner of the house eith an AC unit.
The outdoor living space downstairs was confortable and well secluded by plants. We loved the hammock and fake grass.
Driving to the beach was 45 SECONDS.
We loved the place which was an excellent base for our exploration all over the island.
From the minute we walked into this property, we were so impressed. Tons of space for the family on two levels which even included a lovely outdoor space on the ground floor. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and some basic spices and coffee were also available for us to use. The house is in a quiet location and only a 15 minute walk to the beach and restaurants. The owners even provided a little wagon for the children to ride to the beach in, lots of towels and beach 'toys' were also available. Getting around to other parts of the island was so easy and we just loved having such a wonderful place to return to at the end of the day. The outdoor shower was also a huge hit and the bathtubs were so comfortable and relaxing I didn't want to get out! We can't say enough about this home and highly recommend it. We most definitely would stay here again!
Our stay here was perfect. Beautiful and clean. Close to everything. Sarah, the property manager was great. She lives next door. We had a private chef, Michael Stabber, the south shore chef, come in and prepare our wedding dinner for 8 of us. 6 were staying in the property very comfortably. The dining table is awesome and a fun experience. The house is very relaxing and fun to hang out. We would defiantly stay there again. Thanks for making our week one of two so nice.

Our family loved staying at this home during our vacation. The home was nicely designed with a modern comfortable zen feel. We were there with our kids and grand children and we used the lower bedroom/living quarters as our quiet space. You are able to close the double barn door to the lower section, enjoy the patio seating and hammock, living room space with television and pool table. We very much enjoyed the outdoor shower right outside the lower level suite. Upstairs we used with the rest of the family for dining and entertaining during the day and evening. You will have everything you need (except food and drink of course) in this home to keep you comfortable. The description and pictures are very accurate on the VRBO site and the property manager met us at the home. I sent a text to her to let her know our approximate time of arrival after landing at Lihue airport.
The home is situated in a quiet neighborhood which is very close to Poipu beach. You can enjoy early mornings at the beach ( 6 a.m was my usual time) to see the Honu's (turtles) and Hawaiian monk seals resting on the beach. As a local girl of the islands please kokua..... respect the wildlife and do not venture too near these creatures. They are resting. Please stay 20-30 feet away and use your zoom to take pictures.
A short drive away in Koloa is Big Save market for groceries. A wonderful place to dine in Poipu for a sunset dinner is "Beach House" you should make reservations as this is a popular spot. Food is very good and the service impeccable! There are 2 L & L "drive in" for fast food local plate lunch. You must try this. Get the Kalbi plate you will not regret it!! Also on Saturday and Sunday's you can venture into Lihue for Huli Huli chicken. As of our trip there in June they are located on Rice St. in a parking lot. You will see the chickens rotating on a spit as well as ribs which I did not get....just the chicken please. :)
ONE NOTE OF IMPORTANCE!!! When parking in the front of the house, park in the direction of traffic or you will get a ticket. It doesn't matter if the local neighbors park any kine (in any direction). It appears this home is noted for being a vacation rental and you WILL get a ticket if parked in the wrong direction. I received a $35.00 fine. Oh well.....this did NOT ruin our visit so just be aware.
