The apartment is beautiful, clean and spacious for a family of 4 or two couples. The two bathrooms and closets are very large. The location was right downtown. The self check in and check out came with easy detailed directions. We paid extra for parking in the garage which was convenient. The lobby, outdoor pool, roof top lounge and grilling areas are very nice. The building is handicap accessible - just bring a shower seat. We would definitely stay here again!
We stayed in unit 514 in the last weekend of September, 2016. It's sunny over 300 days a year in Denver so bring sunglasses, a nice coat/windbreaker, and shorts! Arriving was easy. We just had to call at a call box from the garage, the employee buzzes you in and then you go to your assigned room (Stay Alfred gets you detailed and easy-to-follow instructions). We went to the room door and put in a code for the key-box hanging from the door handle, and once opened, that key lets you into the unit. From there, you'll see the rest of your keys and garage door opener on the counter. After, it's a wonderful stay. Stay Alfred gives you ample instructions to get all settled in. The complex and unit were clean, smelled fresh, and had great views with a lot of natural light.
Our balcony overlooked the downtown business district of Denver. It's facing Larimer Street, which has plenty of shopping, bars, cannabis shops, and activities. We were there during the Ocktoberfest Festival on Larimer so it was very convenient for us to walk out of the Douglas Apartments with many things to do. There aren't many cabs around this neighborhood (Five Points) but Uber was ample and quick to respond. Trips to the downtown business district and 16th street were around $5-$7. You can also walk and it takes about 15 minutes to get from the Douglas Apartments to 16th Street. If you are coming for a Rockies game, you are only 2 blocks from there while staying at the Douglas Apartments. It's a great place to stay during game days. Sadly, we were in town when all Denver teams were playing away games.
The Douglas Apartments are clean and upscale. The pool and hot tub are enjoyable, not too cold/hot, and remember: The Sun in Colorado is a lot hotter than you are used to. The days in fall can be cool but if you are in the sun, you'll be very hot. There is a rooftop lounge area with great views.
The unit had amenities, towels, soaps, and a "goodie" basket for your stay. The balcony was enjoyable and allowed us to do a lot of people watching on our street (our unit is located across from the Catholic Charities building so many types of people are there). We recommend you rent a car and drive up to "Lookout Mountain." It's an amazing drive that is only about 25 minutes from the Douglas Apartments.
We felt safe the whole time and enjoyed Denver so much. We will definitely stay with "Stay Alfred" again and definitely recommend it. We are planning a trip next year!
Overall very nice. The apartment did have a nasty smell I couldn't quite place...could've been from previous occupant but it was not good. Parking garage takes a long time to get in and out of. Tv, Internet, cleanliness(other than smell), furniture...all great! Beds and pillows were not comfortable but could've been worse. Overall a nice place to stay.
Great location- within walking distance to pretty much anywhere we wanted to go in LoDo and RiNo. Parking seemed to be pretty secure and easy to get to, albeit a few floors up from the unit.
The unit was conducive for working in, and there was a nice separation between sleeping rooms and bathrooms for my coworker and I.
Only frustrating thing was that the iron was broken so we were unable to iron our wrinkly dress shirts for our business meetings! We also had a little double with our key fob but the Stay Alfred staff helped us out promptly.
All in all a great stay.. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could.
My daughter and I stayed in this wonderful apartment on our recent trip to Denver. The apartment was very clean throughout, had plenty of room and was very well stocked. There was easy to use secure off street parking and a fun neighborhood to explore on foot if you wanted to venture out for a stroll. There were several grocery stores within a 5 minute drive and downtown was 10 -15 minutes by car depending on traffic. Our host was extremely accommodating and most helpful. Thank you for everything! We'll look forward to staying here again on our next trip to Denver.
The apartment was comfortable and the pool was fantastic. It was clear that they were trying hard to keep the place clean, but the hallways had a bad smell (my 4 year old daughter had to hold her nose). Ice machine in freezer didn't work. The biggest problem, however, was only having one key fob that let us in and out of the property and the pool (had to swipe in and out). This, combined with the poor phone reception, made it challenging for my husband and I to get into and out of the place separately. We couldn't even text each other to let the other person in, due to poor reception.
