We loved the location and the condo itself is new and clean. However, in terms of overall amenities, it's lacking.
The window coverings, while attractive, are not especially private. One of the bedrooms looks out directly on the entrance to the parking deck and stairwell. The lights are on all night, and since the shade doesn't block any light, it's essentially daylight all night long, This made it difficult to sleep for the week we were there.
The ad mentions they have local channels on the TV - however it's a small antenna on the table behind the set, and it receives only two channels, part of the time. While we didn't spend much time watching TV, had we wanted to it would have been impossible.
Towels provided were brand new, and shed all over the place. Additionally, they deducted a $70 credit card charge from our security deposit. It should be priced to include it, or, disclosed in the ad.
For the price, while lovely on the surface, comfort of the renters was not a priority.
This is a very nice new construction condo. The proximity to Downtown and Old Town is perfect for walking everywhere and taking in Traverse City's restaurants and breweries. The owners have furnished it with just about everything you may need during your stay. However, I hope you don’t mind cats -- or rather cat hair.
The condo was covered in cat hair! Unfortunately I’m quite allergic and woke up sneezing and with itchy eyes each morning during our stay. The owners even left cat toys and a litter box in the furnace closet and cat toys in the kitchen silverware drawer. I love cats, but if you are allergic like I am, it would have been nice if the owners had disclosed that information in the listing. I would’ve thought twice about paying $2,030 for a week of allergy problems. The other drawback is that parking is not included in your rental fee. The listing does not include anything about parking fees, so be prepared to pay extra. Note: you are able to park for free in the parking structure on nights and weekends, but be careful of 8:00am. Also be prepared to pay extra for a Mastercard fee if you book online like we did. We were deducted $80 from our security deposit for reserving the condo with our Mastercard. The last big issue with this unit is there is not much privacy in the condo at all. The blinds do not actually block the view from people walking outside or walking in the parking structure. We tested it out at night with the lights on inside the condo and the blinds down. You could see everything!
Overall a nice and comfortable condo, but be prepared to pay extra for parking and credit card fees and have allergy issues if you’re allergic to cats.
