Spacious, very private, well-restored old (1857) farmhouse in southwestern Ancona. First, Letizia is a most pleasant and generous host. In this case, you'd be renting directly from the owner, not some uncaring, impersonal rental agency. Letizia will do whatever it takes to make your stay the way you want it. She's also very good with email and texts (in English). The house is a mix of very contemporary/new, like the downstairs bathroom (which has a brand new, wonderful shower), and stylish 70s/80s, like we see in Italian movies of that time. It also has a country-style decor, esp. upstairs. It has three comfortable bedrooms upstairs, with a full bathroom (handheld shower in bathtub). Downstairs, a pleasant living room/dining room. A fully functional kitchen with a dishwasher. There's a covered patio dining room (pictured), and another outdoor dining table. The pool, as noted, is great, though it isn't heated, and while we were there, it got gradually cooler such that by the end of the week (around August 25), it was a bit cool. The house is surrounded by vineyards of very good red wine, as well as sunflower fields. The house definitely has a well-lived in feel, which we really appreciated. As for the surrounding area, we were impressed by the old city in Ancona, definitely worth a visit. And we really like Sirolo and the beach there called Saint Michele (one of my favorite beaches in all of Europe). This area has few non-Italian tourists. We even went to some restaurants that didn't have English-language menus, and needless to say, many waiters don't speak any English. This isn't for everyone, but we liked the feeling of being away from all the tourists, in the 'real' Italy.
We are a Danish family of four with two boys aged 10 and 13 and we stayed two weeks in the farmhouse during the summer of 2016. We have used Homeaway many times and this house is definitely one of the best houses we have stayed in.
The house is located at the end of a 1 km long gravel road so it is very private and peacefully situated. Around the house are fields of wine and sun flowers and the views from the house are really great.
Our hostess Letizia and her daughter Martina are very helpful and gave us many useful tips on places to go in the region.
The house has a private pool which is absolutely fantastic. It is quite big (approx. 13m long) and is cleaned regularly. We spend many hours just relaxing at the pool and enjoying the view. There is even a shower with hot water at the pool.
The house is very well equipped. The kitchen has all the utensils you can possible dream about. The only thing which would make the stay in the house even better would be air-con in the bedrooms upstairs. The house is generally quite cool but with temperatures above 30 degrees outside it gets hot in the rooms upstairs.
Overall, I can only give my warmest recommendation to this house :-)
My husband and I stayed here for two weeks. The house is so nice, spacious, and well equipped. The owners are great and very helpful. They found tennis for my husband and took me to a gym nearby where I could work out. The restored farmhouse is set in the middle of the owners vineyards and fields on the outskirts of Ancona. It is a convenient location near the highways, great for touring in the area. It was a great experience!
What a beautiful house and location! We stayed for two great weeks where we enjoyed the near by beaches and towns and some days we just lazed around the pool which has a nice breeze on a hill. One of the highlights during our time there was having Olga teach us how to make pasta at the house, even though we didn't speak much Italian, it worked! The owner was kind and welcoming and kept the pool clean during our stay.
We just returned from a great holiday in the Marche. The house is just perfect, in the middle of the vineyards, yet very close to Ancona and the beautiful beaches of Conero. The house is clean and very cosy. It is provided with all the ammenities you need. We really felt like home during our holidays.
We are a family with 3 children, 12, 11 and 9 years old, and they had a wonderful time at the house. The pool is perfect: large and deep enough. In addition the garden invites children to play football, basketball and beach ball tennis.
House is ideally located to discover the beautiful area of La Marche.
Letizia is a great host. Very friendly and provides you with all the information requested. We would definitely recommend the house to others.
Just returned home after spending a week at the farmhouse with my partner, her parents, and our 2 year old daughter. In short, we had an amazing time at a beautiful house with every need answered by the owner.
The house is well-equpped for cooking and lounging by the pool, both of which we did extensively thanks to the great food available and nice weather. The owner cleaned the pool as necessary and a new sun shade was provided for the patio (the separate covered loggia is airy with a table for 10).
Clean rooms, towels and a crib for our daughter were waiting upon arrival, along with basics in the refrigerator until we could shop. Wifi worked without issue.
The property is very pleasant, private and quiet, with a big yard, basketball net, great loggia, plum trees and nice views of the vineyards and Ancona nat'l park. The private road to the house and winery can be a bit hard to see from the main road but the owner provided directions (Google Maps also worked).
We felt very welcomed by the owner. Our questions were answered promptly and we were offered great tips for restaurants and shopping. Private tastings at the winery were also arranged for us.
We had a wonderful time at the property and really enjoyed meeting the owner. It was our first time in Le Marche and now I can see why many people call this area "the real Italy." We hope to return again in the future.
