We loved the house: vintage, tons of character, charming vintage furnishings, well equipped. Loved the outdoors shower the spacious deck.
We did not realize -- the detailed description does not mention that -- that the 49 Pleasant Lake Avenue is actually Route 124, a busy road with traffic noise reaching well into the house. Additionally, the lot, which in itself is very nice, is a corner property, further limiting privacy.
We liked the bike rail literally 2 blocks away from the house.
We'd never been to Harwich before and didn't realize that the beach was very small; it wasn't an issue for us, as we stayed the week after the Labor Day and there were no crowds, but would imagine it can get pretty packed in full season. We also realized that we wouldn't be renting again on the Sound side, as we prefer the full waves and openness of the ocean side (however, the Sound is probably great if you have small children).
Thank you for being our guest! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and the home. Route 124 indeed is a busier road however not a highway - just a 2 lane road that we provide a detailed Google map to show the location- the house itself also faces the dead end side road as you mentioned it is on a corner lot. We are really glad you enjoyed the close proximity to the bike trail and overall had a good stay.
