We stayed here for almost 2months for business (We also stayed a week in the Loft property and loved it too). We definitely recommend this place. The apartment was as advertised. We were impressed with how clean the apartment was as we have very high standards for cleanliness. We have traveled a lot and cleanliness is always the most important factor for us. We've been to a lot of places where it was said to have been clean (even by reviewers) and ended up not being so.
The property was also very comfortable. It had everything you would need. The outside area was very nice. There was rarely anyone using the outside amenities so it isn't as though you feel there are too many people around to enjoy yourself like you might feel at an apartment. The gym was very nice as well. When we looked at the gym it appeared to have everything you would need for a workout, however we did not use it during our stay. Tarik was very responsive throughout our stay and made sure it was enjoyable for us. The dryer is small so we tumble dried and then hung our clothes. An iron is also a available if needed.
Tips: Tarik allows you to receive mail.
We were on the fence before we booked and Tarik was kind enough to allow us to view the property beforehand.
The microwave beeps very loudly 3 times once it reaches zero and you cannot clear it to stop. However if you pull your food out before it reaches zero, it will not beep.
The bathroom door that leads to the hallway slams easily
Host: Very responsive and goes out of his way to make sure you enjoy your stay. He responds to issues almost immediately.
Cleanliness: One of the cleanest places we've stayed
Location: The location is Northeast Atlanta and is 10-20min from perimeter mall area depending on traffic. It is located in a residential/suburb area.
Around: Kroger (grocery) is located 5min away. The rental is also very near to the highway. Gas stations are nearby. Mall is 10-20min away depending on traffic.
Let me just say that this home is beautiful. It's very neat and clean. However, there were rules, on top of rules, on top of rules. Well as soon as we arrive we get a phone call from Mr. Merad which means (and he also stated) the security cameras have informed him of our arrival. He immediately informs me that you can not use the pool because the stairs only hold up to 240 lbs. Mind you, not one of us weighs 240 lbs. We only rented this home because of the pool. I specifically told Mr. Merad that myself and 3 other professional, mature women who are also homeowners, were coming to Atlanta for Black Pride. So with that being said, yes there would be SOME partying. WELL, we could not do anything of the sort. There was no noise to be made and no smoking on the premises AT ALL (we had to go down the road). Mr. Merad has 5,000 acres (I'm exaggerating, but it was a really large backyard) and we could not smoke anywhere on his property. EVERYTHING we did was on camera. However, after a few days he told us we could smoke by the fire pit ONLY. He called and texted us about every little thing. He kept telling us that we were being loud. We may talk a little louder than him but we ARE from NY. He also informed us that we could not have company (not 1 person). We asked Mr. Merad why he didn't tell us about all these rules when we first inquired about his home and he stated that he didn't tell us because there would have been the possibility of us not wanting to rent his home. In other words HE wouldn't have gotten our money had he told us about all his RULES. All he cared about were his other tenants because they stayed longer and by gosh we were nobody and just some black women. He also never told me that he lived downstairs. Had he told me that, I would never have rented this home if I knew the owner lived downstairs. I NEVER got in the pool because I was just OVER him and his rules, which is really hard for me because I love the water. He even text us after a few days to ask to see the identification of the person whose credit card the home was booked with. I guess he didn't believe we had money to rent his home (go figure). Why wouldn't he ask as soon as he met us. We didn't fight, get drunk or break things. We totally respected his home as we do our own. Thank you Mr. Merad for making this trip the worst vacation EVER. We will NEVER be back. We never complained about the gardeners talking loud by the window at 8:00AM and waking us up either.
We loved staying here. The location is great to access the city as well as the suburbs. In fact, I used to live in Atlanta, and I think it would be the perfect place for someone staying in Atlanta for awhile for work. Sweet to come home to such a nice place and sit out by the pool or on the deck. The newly updated space is very nice as well. And we loved how well the kitchen is outfitted.
My family and I stayed at Casa Merad for a week while we visited various relatives in northeast Atlanta. My first impression of the place was how CLEAN it is. You can walk around barefoot and your feet will not get dirty at all. The home and the grounds are both very well maintained. Mr. Merad does a great job of setting clear-cut expectations for renters which I think contributes to the well-maintained status of the property.
My husband, daughter and I stayed in the master room and my sister stayed in the other bedroom. There was plenty of room to spread out. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was great. We did laundry throughout our trip. Even though there is only one bathroom, the sinks are separate from the shower and toilet area so four people can still get ready with a bit of planning. For tourist activities, the Chamblee station for MARTA is about 10 minutes away and it is about a 20 minute train ride downtown. Worked great. While we were in town we visited CNN, the aquarium, the Center for Puppetry Arts, the Botanical Gardens, and the amazing diverse restaurants on Buford Highway. Most large tourist attractions are available by train but it is handy to have a rental car.
The property is situated in an upscale safe part of town (verified by all our relatives!). I felt very safe in this neighborhood, although if you are a runner, the sidewalks are inconsistent...just get your workout in the pool on site!
We got to meet the owner during our time there and he was very kind and accommodating. He truly cares that all his tenants have the best experience possible and does a remarkable job managing this tri-plex property. We hope to rent here again in the future.
My family & I stayed @ Casa Merad for a week & we loved everything about it! It's truly a home away from home. This beats staying @ any 5 star hotel because the accommodations are beyond anything a hotel could offer, from the top notch appliances & fully equipped kitchen to the comfort of the King & Queen size beds, the beautiful patio & back yard. I must say hands down Tarik has gone above & beyond to create a great rental experience. I will definitely rent this condo again whenever I'm in the Atlanta area.
Three adults stayed for a week this past Christmas. Mr. Mercad had a full-sized Christmas tree put up in the living room for us - way beyond what we expected, especially because we never asked for it! This home is on the level of being surgically clean. The appliances all appear to be new and of the highest and best models. During our stay I requested a screwdriver to tighten a wobbly toilet seat and within minutes our host appeared at the door, came in, and fixed the problem. The location is very convenient to grocery shopping, pharmacy, restaurants, Mercer University, I-285/I-85 and nearby malls.
We highly recommend this well-appointed home for your stay in the Atlanta area.
