My wife and I stayed here for the week and really enjoyed it. The unit is as advertised. Very clean and quiet.
It was great having the pool right outside the door. We took advantage of the bikes as we rode downtown each morning along the bike path. Great way to start the morning. All appliances are up to date, bed is very comfortable and free laundry room is a bonus. The location couldn't be any better as it's far enough away from Duval Street to be away from it all, but close enough to get there by bike (15 minutes) or by bus which stops right across the street from this unit. We are already making plans to stay here again on our next Key West visit.
This is a great place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the other end of the island. We used the bikes a fair amount and it was easy to get around. Key West has made nice accommodations for those on two wheels. Welcoming staff and helped as needed. The quiet pool was very quiet. There were days we were the only ones using it. Thanks for a nice stay.
This unique one-bedroom condo is quite large, beautifully decorated, comfy mattress & high-end bedding. Upon arrival, the condo was immaculate, plenty of kitchen equipment, lots of spices, & small amounts of basic kitchen necessities until you can pick up your major supplies at Publix (which is 5-minute drive). A couple miles from airport, resort is quiet & well-maintained. A car is needed if you want to do the beaches or enjoy Old Town Key West. The new owner, Celeste, answered all our questions & was very welcoming. We have enjoyed travelling for 20 years; this condo is one of our favorites.
My Fiancee and I really enjoyed staying here . It was very clean and maintained well. The unit was very spacious and open and it seemed a lot bigger, considering it was a 1 bedroom. It seemed to be recently updated with all new bathroom and kitchen with granite tops. The queen size bed was very comfortable. There also is a sleep sofa in the living room as well, but we had no need to use it.The kitchen came pretty much stocked with the small appliances and utensils you would need to cook. There was a private washer and dryer in a little unit in back of the condo, shared with the connecting condo next door, that was new and we took advantage of that since it allowed us to pack a lighter suitcase. There was two bikes there if you wanted to use them, but due to a recent knee injury I was unable to take advantage of them. There is a good size little patio deck with table and chairs ....well shaded so no need for an umbrella. The pool was like having a private pool since no one hardly ever used it. There is also a reserved parking space for you which is nice.There is a Publix, and Win Dixie about 5 minutes from the unit to buy all your groceries. Smathers beach 3 minutes away and plenty of free parking. Best of all Duval St is 10-15 minutes away, depending on traffic, with plenty of pay parking available. Jennifer, the resort host was very helpful with any questions or information you needed, for the resort and local area. She turned us on to Nine One Five, a great little restaurant on Duval street for our Valentines day dinner. Celeste Gosselin, the new unit owner was very helpful in providing you with all the information you needed to get into the unit upon arrival, hassle free. It was just like pulling in your own driveway at home and just walking into your own house. We will definitely choose to stay here again when we come down to the Keys.
The property had everything we wanted or needed. We took advantage of the pool, bikes and kayaks. Location was great for walking too. One of our best vacations; we can't wait to come back!!
First the good stuff. The condo was very nice. Granite counter tops nice bed, very clean. The front desk staff was very helpful. The resort itself was well kept and very nice. But...
The resort is a long way from anything. There is a Starbucks about a mile away and farther an IHOP and McDonalds and no local type restaurants. The bar onsite is nice but no food and only serves wine and beer. Also its along way to Duval street even by bike. Granted we are in our sixties and not in great shape but after one round trip bike ride we ended up using cab service for $40 round trip. The onsite laundry was nice but was being used by others-not just the two condo units. While the condo was well stocked but there were no paper towels or dishwasher soap. The last few days of our stay our daughter and husband came down and we had to use the sleeper sofa. I know that sleeper sofas are never as comfortable as a bed but this one you could hardly sleep on and needs to be replaced quickly. Lastly the big one- My wife and I as well as the people in the other condo liked to sit on the front porch of the condo. But here are some small nat type bugs which ended up biting you on any exposed skin. After just a few days our feet, lower legs and arms were totally full of bites which itched terribly. Both condo tenants had to make a visit to the pharmacy to get Benadryl cream or else all you did was scratch day and night. As of today 1/25 (we left on the 18th) I'm still all bit up and still using the Benadryl cream although it is slowly getting better.
Finally I'd be a little careful here. I get the sense that Steve (the old owner who I think lived in the resort) was on top of everything related to the condo. My sense is that the new owner has a lot of irons in the fire and may not be so attentive so watch reviews for the next few months
