The point of my review is to tell what you cannot see in the ad. Yes, the bones of the house are nice and the neighborhood is lovely. That is obvious. But the condition of the house does not match the neighborhood- furnishings past their useful lives; no chaise lounges for the pool area; no usable grill; no dining table in the house(tiny uncomfortable metal breakfast table); horrible beds; couch and chairs that you fall out of because they are so worn down. And the house now backs to a construction zone- construction earthmovers begin operations at 6am 6 days a week. It is loud and dusty so you cannot sleep nor enjoy the pool area! In addition, this neighborhood is layered by exclusive memberships. Do not expect to actually use the amenities listed in the rental ad because the owners do not belong to anything and the clubs are not condusive to renters. You will need to golf elsewhere, play tennis elsewhere, use the public beaches. We paid $500 to transfer the pool/health club membership only to find out all exercise classes are extra fees and the pool is at full capacity so getting a chair is a competitive event! One other note, the owners do not heat the pool(it was 64 degrees when we arrived) and have a fine print clause in the lease upcharging you for usage of electricity of any sort. The allowable power is barely enough to turn on lights. The owner also nickle and dimed our security deposit. She actually charged us for leaving a bar of soap in a soap dish! So, buyer beware. These are not nice people. They were combative and rude at every point. They are 100% profiteers and your enjoyment of their house is absolutely not important. We have rented from VRBO for years and in many countries. We have NEVER had an experience like this so we weren't prepared for the horrible experience. There are lots of nice houses in Naples, go rent one of the other ones!
Tom - This is truly a beautiful home, in an outstanding setting, located in one of the nicest complexes in the Naples/Marco Island area. The home is laid out very efficiently and is decorated extremely tastefully. The sleeping accommodations were great - beds were comfortable and the master bathroom is exquisite. Beautiful lanai and pool are very convenient and large enough to accommodate a sizeable family (we had 8 people there at the same time for about a week). We all thoroughly enjoyed our February, 2016 stay and would love to rent this home next year as well. The owner (Fay) was wonderful to work with and ready/accessible to help at all times!
We loved our stay at this beautiful home.The street looks like a scene from Hollywood.I especially enjoyed sitting out at the pool and watching the wild life go by and just enjoying the tranquility.Fiddler's Creek spa was within walking distance and we went there almost everyday to enjoy the pool,the food and the many events;comedy show, st patrick's party and went to see the Boston Red Sox on the scheduled trip.Everyone we met were the best and the staff at Fiddlers couldn't be nicer or more helpful.We will miss the sun sets,trips to eat and walk at fifth avenue in old naples,Marco Island,Air Boat ride and touring the Everglades.You can do as much or as little as you wish in Paradise. As far as the home we lacked nothing and the owner treated us like family.It was a great vacation and hope to return again next year.
My husband and I found Fay's house at Fiddlers Creek Cranberry Crossing to be a wonderful place to stay. It was a last-minute decision to rent, and Fay was very accommodating and helpful with the last-minute arrangements. We were very happy with the comfort, convenience, and efficiency of the home. It was especially wonderful to sit outside for every meal under the large outside ceiling that provided shade and plenty of room for having company. The pool was fabulous, just the right size, and it was great to be able to control the temperature of the pool. The pictures in the listing were very accurate and the décor was beautiful and comfortable. The property was very clean and easy to maintain. We appreciated the close proximity to Marco Island and the Isle of Capri, where we found many delicious restaurants to dine at. We enjoyed both The Gator Grill at poolside and the more formal restaurant at the Club. Our entire experience was
much more than we anticipated, we were sorry to leave, and we would definitely recommend this property to our family and friends.
We rented this home for the month during the 2013 holiday season. Fiddler's Creek is a first-rate community with many features on property or nearby for an active lifestyle. The photos of this home are accurate. There is only one sofa and one chair in the living area. If you need to seat more than 3 people to watch television, they need to sit at the kitchen table or on the bar stools. The outdoor patio is large but the furniture is covered with black and green mold. You had to cover it with a towel if you wanted to use it. The mattress on the bed in the master bedroom is so high that the owner purchased a step stool for climbing in and out of bed. The optimal word here is climb. It was ridiculous. The refrigerator stopped working while we were there. The owner wanted us to find a repair service and schedule a time to meet our needs. For the amount of rent paid for the month of December the owner should have a property manager that takes care of these things. I don't want to spend my vacation time finding appliance repair centers and waiting for repairmen to show up. We left on January 12. By March 3rd I had not heard from the owner regarding our deposit. I emailed her to inquire. She did not respond to my email. Two weeks later I received a check in the mail for less than half of the deposit. No note or explanation was included. I emailed the owner twice asking for an itemization of the charges without response. It is clear that the owner purchased this property as an investment and wants the rental income to help cover the expenses but she doesn't want the responsibility or expense that comes with being a landlord. Bottom line, there are much better homes for rent in Fiddlers Creek and specifically in Cranberry Crossing.
Our vacation exceeded our expectation. The home is beautiful, clean, comfortable and adequately equipped. Fiddler's Creek is notable for its lush and well groomed landscaping which is refreshing scenery for walking. Our one to two hour walks seemed much shorter, given the visual beauty. The transfer fee for the spa proved to be well worth the extra money. The home is located just a little more than five minutes to Marco Island's gorgeous beach. The owner, Fay, was ever ready to answer our questions. The only time we needed to call her was our difficulty getting the DVD to play and Fay worked with us over the phone until the problem was solved. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family.
