Sweet spot between TwinCities and Chicago
First of all great location, wonderful clean lake, the cabin itself is roomy and well equiped. Great home for multiple family stay. Kids will be delighted with a swing set and sandbox adjacent to the porch. Dock access and affordable kayak and fishing boat rentals from the host. Host available on site all the time and is friendly and helpful.
This place was great, everything you need and the owner was very helpful with everything
3 bedroom cabin
Excellent spot! Plenty of space for the four of us there. Very clean and well maintained. Frank was great and knows the area very well. Will definitely return.
My friends and I from high school stayed here for our annual Girls Weekend. I agree with what others have said in their reviews. The place was very clean and Frank was great throughout the process. The pictures are accurate except for the living room. I was pleasantly surprised to find a big screen TV. It only took us about 15 minutes to get to the Madison Farmers Market on Saturday. We arrived at 8am and were glad we did. By 10am it was packed and hard to move. Thankfully, we were just leaving. We enjoyed the Koffee Kup for breakfast and enjoyed the unique lunch/dinner menu and the food was great at Wendigo's in Stoughton. A few of my friends are considering coming back with their children and grand children. Sunday morning I was lucky enough to wake up at 6:15am to a beautiful sunrise. The vibrant pink and orange surrounding the lake was beautiful. There was a low fog along the edge of the lake and plenty of big fish jumping. Great way to end the weekend.
Cabin 1 - One bedroom, lake view
Wonderful rustic retreat. The cabin is very small, but clean and well maintained. The kitchen is adequately stocked with utensils and has a full size refrigerator. The resort has free wi fi. The setting is ideal with a perfect deck view to the lake below. Frank is an excellent host who knows the lake and local restaurants, etc. The entire resort is beautifully landscaped and surprisingly private for the density. We brought our own boat and were able to tie up to one of the piers. Only one criticism, the full size bed needs a new mattress and springs. We plan to return and stay longer next year.
Stayed Oct 3 and Oct 4, 2014
Sorry it has been a while to get on this site... but here is my review of this resort... IT WAS OUTSTANDING... can't wait to go back. The resort owner was a down to earth and personable on site owner.... very eager to help out and was available day or night... The view from the big house was pretty decent but it is a long down hill walk to the water (yep... you have to walk up hill on the way back)... but don't worry about that... there are cabins right on the water if you want them. The cabins are close to each other but they are far enough away to give you the feeling of privacy.. The owner told me he has had clients that have come back, year after year for the past twenty years... and meeting him and staying at the resort......... not only do I believe him... I plan on being one of those clients. Stay overnight there (if you can get in).. you will want to go back. Cabin #4 ("The big house") is at street level but has an upstairs... the "Street level" has a bedroom and two bathrooms on that level, as well as the kitchen, dining room, living room, deck and screened in porch (that you can see the lake from). If you have a physical disability/heart condition or other ailment, this would be the house for you to check out on the website. It is close to Halverson's restaurant and other amenities.....
