This unit was very nice there were only two of us but this place easily sleeps at least six. All the amenities were nice including the air conditioning in all the rooms. The living room unit was noisy. It was centrally located to the Recoleta (5 blocks) alot of shopping and eating places. The wifi is a little weak - dont plan on having more than 3 wifi devices on at the same time. Diego the building super was great helped alot. Best part is when the city shuts the electricity, the unit is in the first floor, so no elevator problems - in Bs As thats important.
This is marketed as a luxury apartment and that may have been the case when it was initial put on the rental market. However now it needs considerable TLC. (I have pictures to support my review). Upon arrival we were met by Diego (very helpful). The quality and condition of the linen is very poor they smelt bad and we had to request new linen for the upstairs bedroom, it looked as though someone had just stepped out of the bed as it was not even properly made, the sheets were the wrong size for the bed. The towels had bleach stains on and looked awful. We made a number of visits to the Launderette, we stayed for 14 days, as only one set of linen is available for each room; if anyone had been ill it would have been a big problem as their is no laundry facility in the apartment. Number of windows are cracked and paintwork needs to be fixed. There were water rings in the toilets and shower curtain had mold on it. Air conditioners are loud and seem to need replacing and the one in the main bedroom leaked badly, only one handset worked and the caretaker was aware of this. Patio was only cleaned two days before we left and a very poor job was done of it; we were told it was because it was going to rain; however we had no rain to speak of for the duration of our stay. Internet is slow and does not allow for use of the TV box at times. Paperwork required for this rental was onerous and, in my opinion, over the top. We had to place a substantial security deposit and pay for insurance. I cannot fathom what the insurance was for, certainly not the faded copies of the artwork. Refrigerator door opens the wrong way, this is a simple fix. I could go on and on in regard to the overall condition of this apartment; the best and only good thing I can mention is that the location was excellent.
The apartment is situated on a central street in Recoleta, and is within easy walking distance of shops, cafes and the Subway (SUBTE) station. The building is typical of the area, tidy and well maintained. Prior to our arrival, we had received instructions on how to enter the building, operate the WiFi and other electronic devices plus were advised that the Building Manager (Diego) would meet us when we arrived. Diego was there on schedule and gave us an introductory tour of the apartment. During our stay, Reuben sent us a series of videos with further information on using the apartment.
The interior is nicely furnished and was very comfortable for our 5 day stay.
We cooked a few meals in the well stocked (with utensils) kitchen and found everything easily. The TV setup is internet based and has Netflix plus Hulu and other apps for TV.
We watched a few Netflix movies successfully, but found the TV options to be variable probably due to a slow Internet connection. However it worked well enough for us as we didn't go to Buenos Aires to watch TV. Public transport, plus the odd taxis, worked fine for us and the local Subway station (10 mins walk) provided a rapid and easy access to Downtown areas.
Overall I can recommend this apartment as a good value in a nice area close to all the BA action.
The property is centrally located in a beautiful upper class neighborhood. Apartment is comfortable and sleeps 5 people very well. Has a lot of light and owners are very accommodating. They even place a bottle of wine as a welcome gift!. I will definitely will recommend it to others.
I stayed in a beautiful apartment in La Recoleta Bs As with my family for the last holidays. Apartment very comfortable. Great air condition specially in a warm humid climate. Also very well located and bright. I will definitely will go back.
The experience was great even before we traveled: the paperwork was made easy by helpful and friendly staff, the price was fair and reasonable and the pictures and the videos were great. Once we got there, Diego was extremely helpful in setting us up, the place was clean and fully equipped, and one could not ask for a better location. All public transportation a short and very pleasant walk away, a fantastic and historic neighborhood full of personality and charm, lots of interesting shops and restaurants. Will more than happily repeat on our next trip to beautiful Buenos Aires.
