My wife and I (from Ohio), along with our friends (a couple from Spain) had a wonderful stay at this lovely Brooklyn apartment. The kitchen and two full bathrooms are renovated very nicely and the size of the living spaces are quite comfortable. Every detail has been thought of from the appropriate number of towels to a wide variety of take-out menus and tour maps for Manhattan. The Prospect Ave. subway stop is right around the corner and takes you directly to the heart of Manhattan on the N or R trains. With an unlimited MetroCard we easily navigated Manhattan by Subway to get everywhere we needed to go. There are two grocery stores within 2 blocks as well. We were very pleased to find the cleanliness of each and every room. The full-size washer and dryer in the kitchen helped us go home with all clean clothes. It was a perfect spot for our week stay. Be mindful of parking as certain days have street cleaning times in which you need to relocate your vehicle, but it wasn't a big deal. Save time on your apartment search and book your stay at this great location!
Everything was wonderful! We did some cooking and the kitchen was clean and very easy to use. The bedrooms and bathrooms were also very nice. The only complaint I have was I was traveling with my elderly parents and I didn't realize how many steps there would be. Which made it difficult for my father to go up and down.
We were very pleased with everything about this very spacious and updated duplex. There was lots of room for my family and everything was clean and well-maintained. It is right around the corner from the subway and Uber was never more than a few minutes away. Christoper was great. We will be back.
This place was awesome! We stayed here for Christmas week with four adults (grandparents and parents) and three kids under the age of 7. It could not have worked out better. The bedrooms are spacious enough so that we fit the kids in their parents bedroom on air mattresses. There were even some toys for them to play with before they got their Christmas gifts. We have two adult kids living in Brooklyn and this place was a 15 minute walk from one of them and a half hour by subway from the other. The subway is right around the corner and there is lots to do right in Brooklyn. We ordered Christmas dinner from Union Market and had dinner at the apartment with lots of room for everyone. The apartment is clean, kitchen and baths updated, plenty of dishes and utensils and clean, fluffy towels. The owners were awesome and respond quickly and were very helpful when we needed something but did not hover at all. This was our first venture into renting a place for a week and I'm afraid we are now spoiled. If we decide to do this again in New York we would definitely check with Marcia before even looking at anything else.
The Duplex Apartment worked out great for 4 ladies on a fun week of using a “7 Day New York Pass!” It was spacious, with updated bathrooms and kitchen. The R Train is literally just around the first corner and there is a great grocery store 1 block away where we were able to buy breakfast staples, snacks, etc. The total travel time by subway to reach Times Square is 40 minutes however.
We each had a bed as we utilized all 4 beds – the one pullout couch was not that comfy so we put up the airbed and that was good. A request for 2 extra blankets for warmth for the beds downstairs arrived from Marcia. Chris gave us some good suggestions for restaurants and suggested the Eastern taxi/car service – set rate of $35 going back to JFK.
One disadvantage is the noise factor while sleeping, as we are not accustomed to busy traffic. The Expressway did not seem as noisy as 17th Street – at times it seemed like a raceway to the expressway! All in all, a great holiday!
3 of us stayed in this property for a long weekend.
The property is very clean with two double bedrooms and comfortable beds. It also has very good circulation space.
The kitchen is well equipped and the water pressure in the showers is excellent
Whereas the property has character, it could do with being painted and would benefit from some minor repairs. For example, an electrical socket in the sitting room was hanging loose which could be dangerous for children. The water in the upstairs shower was cold and there was a leak in the downstairs shower which necessitated a towel being placed in the cubicle to prevent water leaking to downstairs.
The front door squeaked very badly and we felt that it could easily disturb the downstairs occupants when we entered the Duplex late in the evening.
The bulb was gone in one of the bedrooms and this must have been evident when the property was being cleaned.
Finally, the roof terrace has great views but the traffic noise is such that it is not possible to relax and chat on the roof.
The repairs / maintenance issues could easily be sorted out, making this a very high quality rental.
In the meantime, the great location, spaciousness and cleanliness of the property where enough to make us want to return to the Duplex, although we would probably check out some other options too.
