We stayed in the upper apartment for 10 nights, it was fantastic. The apartment has everything you could need, the high point has to be the terrace - large, private and with an amazing view, we spent many happy hours reading, having a drink and enjoying the tranquility.
The location of the apartment was great, a 5 minute walk from the harbour and a 15 minute walk to the beautiful ramshackle town of Grohote with a small supermarket.
We were going to hire a car for the time we were there but weren't able to get one in the end, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise, we hired a scooter from Necujam, a nearby town easily reached by bus and enjoyed scooting round the island to the other small towns.
The island was beautiful, we spent our time on the terrace, relaxing on the rocky beaches found in every town, went olive oil tasting and made a few day trips to Split. We also did a day trip on a boat to Trogir. The local restaurants were very good and the kitchen was also well quipped and so buying food at the markets and cooking was also very easy and enjoyable.
Morski Vuk is the perfect getaway which I have already recommended to many friends.
We spent two and a half weeks at Villa Morski Vuk. Would have loved to stay longer - lots of time to swim, read, sleep, eat good food...
The house is within walking distance to the ferry harbour and marina. You need to go up a very steep (!) hill and get paid off with a panoramic view of the Adriatic coast, the city of Split and the mountains behind when sitting on the terrace. Just a few minutes down a path, there is a great bay for swimming. Our kids loved snorkeling all day.
The apartment is well equipped and was very clean. It is used by the owners, too; so that way it has a personal touch and it feels rather like staying at a friend's house than an impersonal holiday apartment.
For a summer like the one we experienced (36-38 degrees), we were glad that the apartment had air-conditioning in the living room.
The island is beautiful and quiet (not packed with tourists as Split is) and has got to offer lovely bays for swimming. We tried several restaurants across the island and the food was always of high quality. The freshest fish was served at the restaurant Solta, just 300 meters away from the apartment.
When there, don't miss the rosé wine and olive oil from OPG Kastelanac Vicko in Gornje Selo, a family vineyard on the island.
During our vacation we used the Catamaran ferry, the car ferry and also the speed boat taxi - all good ways to get around. We rented a car (in Split) for part of the time. The boat taxi is definitely the most convenient and relaxing way to and from the airport: it took only about an hour from the apartment to the terminal. You can make bookings via internet (we used AdriaticaTransfer and SugamanTours for a speed boat trip).
Thank you, Colin for sharing this little piece of paradise!
no wifi, no tv, a piece of cord instead of the handle of the fridge
dusty and dirty, the drain of the shower was blocked
near to the ferry, great view over the bay
A lovely, well equipped apartment with a great view from the terrace over the harbour. A great place if you want a quiet week away from the crowds. Solta itself is enchanting. I would recommend the apartment highly.
The apartment was fantastic. Amazing view - I never wanted to leave! We had everything that we needed and the info pack very very comprehensive. Thank you!
We had one of the most relaxing holidays we've ever had here! The view from the terrace is priceless and the peace and quiet are fantastic. If you're looking for action - don't come here. There isn't much to do but that was entirely the point for us. Just eating, reading, playing games, going to the various nearby beaches... Perfect!
