Dieses gemütliche Blockhaus liegt auf 80 Morgen der unberührten Privatgrundstück mit fantastischem Blick auf den Südwesten Rocky Mountains und dem heiligen Sleeping Ute Mountain! Diese Eigenschaft ist nur 25 Minuten vom Mesa Verde und nur 90 Minuten von der Telluride Skigebiet! Es ist nur 50 Minuten von Durango!

Das große Zimmer verfügt über deckenhohe Fenster nach Süden mit nichts als Bäume und Roll Canyons, so weit das Auge reicht! Die Küche ist komplett für Ihre Bedürfnisse Kochen ausgestattet, oder Sie können auf dem Osten überdachte Veranda mit dem Gasgrill Grill. Im Erdgeschoss gibt es zwei gemütliche Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbetten und antike ein Vollbad. Das Hotel liegt im Obergeschoss ist das große private Master-Schlafzimmer, die ein Kingsize-Bett auf einem benutzerdefinierten Protokollrahmen. Verbunden mit dem Master-Schlafzimmer ist die Master-Bad mit einer schönen gefliesten Dusche. Zentrale Klimaanlage und Heizung werden Sie bequem zu jeder Jahreszeit zu halten.

Nach einem Tag der Erkundung der antiken Klippenwohnungen an MESA Verde (nur 25 min entfernt), entspannen Sie in der sechs Personen Olympia Caldera Whirlpool. Perfect Setting

My husband and I spent one week at the cabin in early October. The location was perfect. Secluded but short drive to Cortez. We had been trying to stay in this cabin for two years and finally made it. It was worth the effort. The home is beautiful and very well furnished. We will definitely be back.

Quiet starry nights and hummingbird filled days

This house was all we had hoped for and more. It was secluded, very quiet, and nicely decorated. The surrounding property was full of interesting wildlife which made us very happy. After putting up the feeder we got about a dozen hummingbirds. It was amazing. We watched hummingbirds, lizards, and chipmunks for a whole afternoon from the lovely deck. Being birders, we also watched for birds from the deck and along the country roads leading to the house. There were Woodhouse's scrub-jays, Bushtits, Juniper Titmice, many Black-chinned Hummingbirds, Lark Sparrows, Black-billed Magpies, Western Kingbirds, Western Meadowlarks, and Mountain Bluebirds. At least two kinds of lizards live near the house, Whiptail and Fence Lizards. Also two kinds of chipmunks, Hopi Chipmunks and Colorado Chipmunks. The nearby Sand Canyon is a spectacular trail but only in the cool of the morning or evening if you visit in the summer. The sky was so clear at night that we could see Satun's rings in our spotting scope. Cortez was a nice little town that had convenient grocery stores and an ice cream shop. The owner, Lana, was very gracious, friendly, and helpful. it was a dreamy vacation.

Ultimate Romantic Honeymoon!

WOW! This property is so unbelievably beautiful, pictures just don't do it justice! We decided to choose this property for our honeymoon because it met our 3 requirements 1) secluded 2)dog friendly 3) hot tub! I don't even know how to express what a relaxing atmosphere this place has! Honestly, even though we had just had our happy wedding day, we also had just experienced the loss of a family member and needed a get away now more than ever, and boy did we pick the perfect place! We loved walking around this MASSIVE property with our 2 dogs, I highly recommend that if you stay here you take the time to walk around ALL of it because every inch of this property is so beautiful, and like I said so private and secluded, literally a slice of heaven! Oh and that view! Waking up every morning and eating breakfast looking out onto the Ute mountains was indescribable! Despite feeling like you are on your own private part of the earth, this property is also next to some awesome stuff! We took a day trip to the Pagosa Hot springs (2 hour drive passes so fast when you have story book scenery the entire way!), we were also right next to Mesa Verde (an item on our bucket list now checked off!) and we were less than 1 hour drive from 4 corners! I just can't say enough about how relaxing this property was! We stayed in the master bedroom upstairs and it was some of the best sleep we have had in a long time! All of the furniture was so cozy! This property is also full of everything you could possibly need, cooking utensils (especially the awesome old school sectioned lunch trays we found in the kitchen perfect for breakfast in bed!), extra pillows and blankets, as well as really nice soaps and shampoos provided, not to mention a fully stocked jar of dog treats! Lana was a wonderful host who was immediately available to answer all of our questions! I recommend this property to anyone looking for a romantic get away that truly allows you to get away from EVERYTHING!! We cannot wait to come back again! Thank you Lana your property is AMAZING!! we truly could not have asked for a more romantic honeymoon!

Beautiful log cabin with amazing views!

We had an amazing experience with this cabin. Mrs. Lana was helpful before our arrival answering all my questions. Cabin is totally equipped with all you need. Hot tub is wonderfully placed on the porch with awesome views. Beds were extremely comfortable. She added all the little extras of additional pillows and fans if desired. You could tell she spent extra time to make sure guests were accommodated. Thanks for a great week in Cortez. So many things to do but do not miss Mesa Verde.

Great family Christmas getaway

This cabin was perfect for a quite family Christmas! Upon entering the gate the short driveway winds through the tress which felt like a winter wonderland for us folks who come from where it never snows! The view from the deck is stunning. Soaking in the hot tub under the stars and marveling at the dark night sky was beautiful. Much to our delight we woke up Christmas morning to it snowing which was perfect for my grandkids who had never seem snow before. The kitchen was well equipped for preparing our Christmas dinner! The cabin was clean any very cozy and comfortable. We did a half day trip to Mesa Verde which I recommend as the ruins are impressive. We also took a beautiful less than two hour drive into Tellride which makes for a great day trip! I would recommend this property to anyone looking to get away and relax. We would love to stay here again if we are in the area.

Difficulties in dealing with cabin owner

Although this property has some attributes, such as the vast acreage, proximity to the local town, and overall landscape, it also contains several downfalls, including outdated and over-used beds furniture, slow drains and grime in the downstairs bathroom, slow internet connection, and complete lack of any check-ins with guests during their stay. However, dealing with the owner turned out to be the worst aspect of the cabin stay.

We were assured via email the day after our stay that the required large deposit would be returned. We received the deposit and a card from the owner 3 days later. However, the owner called us the next day (after another party stayed there for 5 days), apparently changed her mind, and cancelled the check for the return of the deposit due to “excessive cleaning.” She stated that the housekeeper found pet hair and parakeet waste on the floor. This is considering that we agreed to pay excessive additional cleaning fees and pet fees before staying at the cabin (which added up to even more than the deposit), even though the cabin contract does not stipulate anything about a pet fee. The owner also complained that we left the blankets with the bedsheets. We did so because expected that the housekeeper would wash the blankets after our stay. Perhaps they do not do so.

When we inquired why the whole deposit was being taken from us, the owner stated that part was for a pet fee for the parakeet (despite no pet fee stipulated in the contract) and the majority for additional cleaning, which she mentioned took the housekeeper 3-4 hours. This equals to more than a quarter grand in pet and cleaning fees.

Worst of all, the owner was condescending and derogatory in regards to the way she referred to us, such as via insinuating that our cleanliness at home is sub-par. She even admitted that she was never actually present to see the state of the cabin after we left, but that her information was based solely on the report of the housekeeper. Based on the observations of the 4 individuals that resided at the cabin, the required cleaning after our departure was in no way excessive. All of us are responsible adults and professionals in our field, including a psychologist, pharmacist, engineer, and lawyer. Our family has visited various cabins throughout the United States 1-2 times yearly for over 20 years. We have never encountered any complaints after out stays and were all very shocked to be treated with such disrespect by the owner.

Guests from all over the world have had the pleasure of staying in our Cabin and enjoying the many things to do and see in the Four Corners. I have many repeat guests and many referrals from guests who have loved our homes. The reviews speak for themselves, STERLING!!!! 4-5 stars!!!!!!!! My housekeeper for the last 13 years at the Cabin is a wonderful , caring, woman named Tanya. She and I are very dedicated to keeping the Cabin in perfect order for our guests. She was completely shocked when she opened the door after your departure.....she described it this way, "Completely trashed, looks like a very BIG teenage party has been going on". A normal cleaning takes approximately 3-4 hours.Tanya spent 9 hours the first day and 3 additional hours the next day. This does not include carpet cleaning and the dry cleaning of all bedding. All pets coming to my properties must be approved and paid for ( $15 per day ). You did pay for the two dogs you brought along, but made no mention of a bird that was coming..... I have never allowed any guest to bring a bird, especially a bird that is allowed to fly freely throughout the house. This was a large bird, NOT a parakeet! Tracking molting feathers, bird seed and bird droppings throughout the house made for a very difficult clean-up, especially on the slate floors and grout after a 12 -day stay. The additional cleaning was $240, pet fee $180 ( for 12 days ) plus the carpet cleaning and dry cleaning charges. I think you owe me some money? Your claim to homeaway for the refund of your security deposit ( $350 ) was denied July 2016 and homeaway sent me a email saying, "Case Closed"!!!!
