Kendall Apartment ist eine helle, geräumige, private Effizienz Wohnung, die geschmackvoll von seinen Künstlern Eigentümer ist dekoriert und von schönen Blumen- und Gemüsegärten. Die apt. Raum ist in zwei Zimmer, eines mit einem Doppelbett mit Sitzecke und einen kleinen Schreibtisch und das andere ist eine voll ausgestattete Küche unterteilt. Große Glastüren öffnen sich auf eine private Terrasse mit einem Tisch für Mahlzeiten im Freien und einen kleinen Garten mit Liegestühlen. Nur eine kurze Entfernung von der das Dorf, es ist eine ruhige Umgebung zum Entspannen und Erholen. Dies ist nicht ein Ozean vor Hotel, aber seine nur einen kurzen Spaziergang zu den Wanderwegen, ufer, Klippen und spektakuläre Sonnenuntergänge. WIFI zur Verfügung. Gut erzogene Hunde sind willkommen. Wöchentlich vermietet, mit Wechsel an Samstagen in der Hochsaison. Eine ganz besondere einen weg für Schriftsteller und Künstler und für alle, die zum Entspannen und Erholen will.

Apartment was very comfortable. Rates were very reasonable and it was great to be able to take the dog. We would stay here again.
Great getaway space, charming!
Compared to other options on the island, this is a great value! Loved the private yard and entrance, nice, functional kitchen, and big bedroom. Lots of birds to watch, and perfect location too!
Adequate space for two unpretentious adults.
Everything would have been fine if the bed had not creaked with every movement and if the mattress had not sagged in the middle. Otherwise all fine, and Monhegan is lovely. We had a very good time, but more sleep would have been nice!
Thanks for your suggestions! After we read your review, we took a look at the bed, and realized that the mattress was getting dated and creaky!
Last week, we replaced the mattress with a brand-new queen memory foam mattress that has over 4000 five-star reviews on Amazon - we think it will be a major improvement. We are making many other improvements as well (the raised beds had been neglected, but now have many herbs and veggies growing, and we hope to do the same earlier in the season next year).

screen door in bdrm doesnt close properly. Blankets and mattress pad could use laundering. But generally charming, nice garden views, light and breezes through windows. Wonderful raspberries in garden.

I'm sorry about the WiFi. Sadly, it's a problem on the island. We have service from the only provider on Monhegan. To eliminate weak links, we have placed repeaters throughout the property to make sure the signal that is available is as strong as possible. Monhegan is special because it is remote! Sadly, the WiFi kind of stinks for the same reason.
I spent some time fiddling with the screen door after reading your concern and it seems to be working better. As always, though, we have a caretaker on the island for any problems we can't resolve from afar. We encourage our guests to let us know of any problems they have so that we can ask friends on the island to help resolve them ASAP.
Likewise, I'm sorry about the blankets and mattress pads needing a wash. We have purchased more to go into the "cycle' and will ask our cleaning help to make sure that these things are refreshed as needed.
Finally, if you like the raspberries (it is general knowledge on the island that our patch is the best!) you should try the blackberries in the late summer and fall. They are all over the island and the yard and are my absolute favorite!
Cozy ,well located apartment on Monhegan
The Kendall apartment is a cozy, well -located studio apartment on Monhegan. The online descriptions were accurate other than the place was dusty. I do not think the previous guests cleaned the apartment before they left. The apartment is adjoined to a larger rental space and you can hear your neighbors clearly. It was great when the people next door weren't in but in the evening the normal noise was distracting.
If you don't mind this, the place is great!

Because Monhegan is so small and has so few full time residents, sometimes it is hard for the few cleaners working on the island to do deep cleanings if the accommodations aren't already reasonably clean when they begin. This is why we ask that, insofar as possible, guests leave the space as they found it. We try to always make sure that cleaning supplies are readily available.
Beginning in the spring of 2017, the person who cleans the apartment and the house has dropped her other clients to focus only on the Kendal Apartment and Magnolia House. This will undoubtedly help to ensure the spaces are ready for the next guests, but we will continue to ask for, rely on, and appreciate our guests for leaving the homes as they find them.
I am sorry, too, that the noise from the guests in the adjoining house was disruptive. We clearly ask for mutual respect, especially during "quiet hours." Despite the properties being connected, making disruptive noise a potential problem, many, if not most of our guests, are long time renters and do not have problems. I'm sorry that this wasn't the case during your visit. If you do return to Kendal, I am always available and happy to help mitigate any trouble you have with house guests or any other problems.

We rented Magnolia house and the attached Kendall apt. in June! It was perfect for a family gathering of 10 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs! The house was well equipped, comfortable and our 5 year old loved the playhouse and toys.
Our only disappointment was that the home is advertised as having a washing machine but it appeared seldom used (dirty) and was not even hooked up in the basement. We had counted on this convenience as our daughter has a newborn in cloth diapers...... We were able to use the laundry mat in town, but the change machine wasn't working and it was hard to get enough quarters to do a load. Please remove the washing machine from the home information if it isn't really available.
Monhegan is beautiful and the Magnolia House it great! My review would be 5 stars if the washer worked. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
Thanks for the feedback - we apologize about the washing machine! It broke right before the season, and as you can imagine, it is very difficult to get a replacement out and hooked up. We are going to do our best to get a new machine in for next year (and if not, will definitely update the listing).

Because of how short the rental season is on Monhegan (and how far in advance the apartment generally books), we have a strict cancellation policy. If you cancel with enough advance notice (typically 90 days) we will provide a refund in full if we can re-book the property.
