Great for getting around N.York without a car(5 mins from train)Our first time in new york the appartment was a very nice place to stay.Bars and restuarants close by.If your staying 5 days or more,worth buying a weekly train pass.Kristen and Terry were very helpful with infomation about the area.would reccomend the appartment to friends.
If you desire an immaculately clean, spacious apartment, with a fully functional and well-equipped kitchen, at a great price per night, this apartment in Astoria, Queens is your “home away from home.” The personable owners, Kristen and Terry, could not be more attentive and responsive to their guests’ needs. When visiting our son and his family, who live nearby, this apartment is our go-to destination. And, we’re extremely disappointed when it has already been booked!
The surrounding, residential neighborhood is inviting, with a wealth of shops and restaurants. Most convenient, the terminus of the N and Q subway lines is but a short 10-minute walk. From there, mid-town Manhattan is only 15-20 minutes away. In seeking a place to stay, our goal has been to find a comfortable apartment at a fair price and conscientious owners with whom we could establish a long-term relationship. And - we have met our goal!
This was the first trip to New York for my husband and myself. We have travelled extensively in Europe and more recently have chosen apartments rather than hotels.This apartment in Queens is ideally located for the Subway(5mins) and surrounded by bars and restaurants providing lots of choice for evening dinner or snacks. The Subway takes 20 minutes to Times Square and 15 minutes to Central Park.The apartment is very clean and spacious and extremely well-equipped.Our only minor adverse comment would be that it lacks some natural light but this was in no way was a hindrance to a very enjoyable stay. Kristen was delightful and very helpful and accommodated our early arrival and our late departure.The surrounding area felt safe and was not particularly busy or crowded. We very much enjoyed coming out of the city and back to Queens for dinner. The ideal airport is La Guardia but we could only fly to JFK and back from Newark and these were both easily reached from the apartment. Having looked through the details of many apartments before booking, I feel we had very good value for money and the listing descriptions accurately cover the location and apartment facilities.
We had a wonderful stay with our two children ages 7 and 10. The hosts were very accommodating and had a lot of fantastic suggestions. Many great restaurants and a few groceries in walking distance, and a short walk to the subway station. We loved having a little escape from the busyness of downtown and it was nice for the kids to have space out back to run around. A lot more room than a hotel, with a nice neighborhood feel. Would recommend to others!
The hosts were so accommodating and kind. The place was much larger than staying in a hotel, with many more amenities-kitchen. The only complaint is that the double bed needs to be replaced. It's very soft and lumpy.
The house is very comfortable, in a nice location, family neighborhood, near the subway, lots of restaurants around and markets.
We were very well received by the landlords who gave us several tips.
The house is cozy, comfortable and fully prepared to receive guests.
We were 5 people coming from Brazil and really had good times in there. I strongly recommend it and in our next trip to NY we will choose this house again for sure.
