I spent a long weekend here with freinds and family, and everyone was sad to go. They property was great. everything is new and done with excellent worksmanship. Bathrooms are wonderful. Commerical kitchen is great for any one that loves to cook. I will be back!!
Wonderful, comfortable and classy, this eight bedroom Inn was perfect for our multi-generational family reunion for both skiers and non-skiers. Jacques, Alex, and Maria take wonderful care if the Inn, and they made sure that we had everything we needed. We had a lot of fun having our own kitchen and sitting around the huge dining room table playing games after dinner. The kids loved having room to run around, and the jacuzzi, the pool table, and the enormous flat screen tv in the living room. The bedroom in the main level was perfect for my parents as there were no stairs, but it only had a step-in jacuzzi tub and hand shower, so they would've had to go down a flight of stairs if they needed a regular shower. The six bedrooms on the downstairs level and the two bedrooms another level down, all with their own bathrooms with showers and one with a jacuzzi tub combo, were very comfortable for our large extended family. The non-skiers relaxed during the day in the large living room, and skiers could come and go as the slopes were a couple of minute's drive away. The market's about ten minutes away in Tannersville, and there are some good restaurants if you'd like a night out. We brought some prepared dishes from home and easily stored them in the massive freezer and fridge. The commercial kitchen appliances are somewhat challenging to use, and I would recommend some written directions be available. We had a lot of laughs figuring out how to work the dishwasher, coffeemaker, oven and stove through trial and error, even after some basic instructions were given upon our arrival. I've been skiing at Hunter Mountain since the seventies, and I can tell you that is a lot more luxurious, from the ease of renting great equipment (skiis were amazing for all level skiers), to the six-person chairs that whisk you up the slopes, and to the healthy food in the cafeteria (grilled vegetable and humus panini made to order). You can still count on Hunter to keep those snow makers going to ensure the best possible conditions. Combining our ski trip with a family reunion at such a great place made this our best ski trip ever!
I would like to begin with saying, that we are renting houses at least twice a year (July 4th and New Year celebration), so i have seen many different houses and was dealing with multiple land lords. This was one of the best houses we ever rented before. Perfect location (5 minutes from Hunter maintain), close to stores (super market & Liquor) and gas station. House is really big; has multiple areas (other than bedrooms), where people can spend their time. Bar area with comfortable couches, Living loom, pool area. Everywhere in the house you are getting Wi-Fi signal. Commercial style kitchen was really crazy, very well equipped (big refrezirator and standalone freezer). We were a big company (7 couples with kids), we brought a LOT of food, but refrezirator looked like it was half empty. The dining table was big and beautiful (easily accommodate as all). Every room has its own bathroom and TV, this was awesome. We always had a house keeper person that we could contact for any questions or concerns. She was very helpful when needed. Thank you very much for such a great house. We had very good weekend; I highly recommend this house and already thinking to book your house again for our next celebration.
We have been spending well over 10 years visiting the Hunter Area every summer in August. Over time our family has grown to over 15 people (including children), and we normally squeeze into multiple small rooms at run down motor lodges and area inns. We came across the Gardner through HomeAway and decided to give it a shot this year – what a pleasant surprise!
Jacques, the owner was a pleasure to deal with. He responds to emails and calls in a timely fashion and is always available to answer any questions.
This is a huge property, fitting our group well with room to spare. Everyone has their own bedroom with a comfortable Queen bed and full bath, and even additional cots. There is a commercial kitchen with multiple fridges, a grill, flat top and plenty of oven space, a huge dining room and family room with couches, a large screen TV and plenty of seating – along with a beautiful view of Hunter Mountain. The Gardner also has a special treat – a bar and lounge area which can be used to unwind at the end of a long day. There are a few bathrooms on the main floor as well. Everything is immaculate – we were very impressed with the cleanliness.
The kids had plenty of room to run and play both inside and out and we never once felt cramped the entire weekend. Maria, the housekeeper checked in on us daily – she is very pleasant and was always helpful, ready to answer any questions we had.
Our entire group was extremely impressed with the Gardner and we are looking forward to staying there again next year!
We stayed here for a ski/snowboard trip to Hunter Mountain for 14 people. We picked this place because it was centrally located for everyone to drive to. Looking at the photos online it seemed like it was going to be too good to be true and something had to be wrong. As soon as we entered the property we were all amazed. The property was clean and gorgeous and offered tons of space. We mostly hung out at the bar or played games in the common living room. The caretaker, Felipe, was great and showed us how everything worked. The kitchen had everything you needed (minus pot holders). Every bedroom was well presented and having a full bath in every room was great. The skiing/snowboarding was just okay but that's cause the slopes were crowded. We'd come back but probably not for the Hunter Mountain.
This is the second year we stayed at the Inn and we already booked to go back.
The owner is very easy to work with & the caretaker is just awesome.
We have a large group ranging in age & everyone is looking forward to going back next year.
