Having stayed a few times at La Bastide des Lavandieres, the last time being in October 2009 and we intend returning to Canaules within the next few months, we cannot praise it enough. This apartment offers space, a home away from home and yet you know that you are on vacation. The service to arrange the booking is always very helpful.The apartment is maintained to a very high standard and is very clean. The apartment is large and well equipped with good quality furniture and appliances. Outside the patio is very spacious and the surrounding gardens and pool amenities are spacious and very relaxing - it is an ideal place for both couples and families.
Canaules is where a person can go to just relax and recharge the batteries and yet should you wish to venture elsewhere there are many activities available to take advantage of, ranging from horse riding, canoeing on the rivers or just going for a walk amongst the surrounding countryside and villages. You are surrounded by amazing scenery in this location of the Languedoc and you get to spend a few days living within a French village and to savour all its charm. However, there are many towns and cities within an hour's drive of Canaules such as Ales, Montpellier depending on how busy a town you want.
La Bastide des Lavandieres will always be a place that we look forward to returning to time and time again.

A wide appartment, a nice terrace, a cool pool, and a great location: we spent really good holidays there and plan to go back soon.

myself and my daughter went to la bastide on a short holiday , i most say i was very impressed with how child friendly this place was .there is a pool , a park and and kids play area. plenty to keep a child's mind occupied. it was relaxing and peaceful. and lets face it when you do get a chance to get away they are the main things that you are looking for with a holiday. i've been to a lot of places but this was the most relaxed holiday i've had in a long time .

My wife found this place quite by accident . She was googling another apartment complex in the same area when she found La Bastide instead . What a happy accident it turned out to be . We loved the sense of relaxation that we found in the little village of Canaules where the apartment is located . Also it was nice to have so many large towns and cities within a short drive while still being located in the heart of the countryside . The apartment itself was absolutely huge and spotlessly clean . It felt like we were in a house rather than an apartment as there was just my wife and myself . There was a lovely large private terrace on the sunniest side of the building where we had our breakfast each morning and we also used the barbecue provided on a few occassions in the evenings . One of the owners - Noel lives on site and we found him to be very helpful . He brought us to see his vineyard and he also took us out to some nearby restaurants which were really nice and quite cheap . This is a lovely area of France and although we like to go somewhere new each year I would be tempted to return to both the apartments and the area at some future date

JUST BACK FROM A WONDERFULL LONG WEEKEND AT THE BASTIDE.
IT WAS THE BEST ACCOMMODATION THAT WE HAVE EVER STAYED IN .
WE HAVE PLANED A RETURN TRIP AGAIN IN TH SUMMER AND CANT WAIT TO GET BACK TO THIS LOVELY UNSPOILT REGION OF FRANCE

Despite the owners reservations about it being too quiet for us we spent Christmas & new year here . It certainly was quiet but so so peaceful & relaxing . Ales which is quite a big city is just a 15 minute drive away so we got all the seasonal excitement we needed there ( great fireworks for new year) . The standard of the accommodation surpassed anything I had previously experienced in this part of France . The apartment was large , well heated & very spacious . It has a large swimming pool which obviously in December we didn't use but it looked like it would be just lovely in the summer . It has an even bigger car park which I would estimate could easily accommodate 7 / 8 cars . It was great also to be able to watch UK tv at night & listen to UK radio stations over breakfast each morning . I'm sure it's a much livlier place in Summertime but somehow I think that peaceful relaxing atmosphere we experienced would be there at any time of year . I hope to find out later this year as we intend to return for our annual Summer break in August .

we stayed at la bastide des lavandieres for a week in september 2008 and found it to be excellent accommodation. we have booked again for 2009
