Having decided that this year Italy was the place for us to visit, we opted to stay in the well located and gloriously beautiful Trevignano Romano on the banks of Lake Bracciano. The villa is magnificent and full of character and charm as are the hosts Sylvia, Raphael and their dog Benji. Our two week stay was marvellous and any problems that we had in getting around , local services and general education on the surrounding area were quickly diffused by our kind hosts. We had three generations of family in our party and this place was ideal. The centre of the town is just at the bottom of the hill from the villa and Bracciano & Anguillara are both within close proximity around the lake. Rome is easily accessed by a nearby train service and motorways to all over Italy are also within easy reach.We would certainly go back to this beautiful place and would wholeheartedly reccommend that anyone out there looking for a piece of real Italy to give this villa a go. Sylvia & Raphael will take good care of you. We are missing them already.

We really enjoyed our stay in Sylvia's villa. We found it to be very comfortable and the location is very good. The living space is very large and is well furnished which was perfect for us as we have two small children. Having free internet access and sky tv was great also. There is plenty to do around Trevignano and the lake is lovely to swim in with a long promenade to stroll on. We found the kitchen to be very well equipped with plenty of everything. It even has a food processor which came in very handy for the baby's purees! We would stay here again.

We spent 4 months, yes months, in Sylvia's warm and comforatable rental. The home was big and very relaxing. My sister, who loves to cook found the kitchen easy and complete. And when we didn't eat-in, Trev.Rom has some wonderful restaurants. We loved immersing ouselves in all that Italy has to offer. Having a car made it easy to take advantage of the close proximity to Rome and Umbria. Sylvia was always available for us, but never intrusive. We were there during the winter months, but we could see how beautiful her gardens must be in the summer months. The WI-FI allowed us to keep in touch with our families in America and the satellite TV kept us in touch with the World. All in all, it was the most glorious 4 months!!

Our family of 5 stayed at this villa in August 2010. The villa was spacious and clean, and the owner, who lives on the floor above, was very friendly and helpful. The villa, however, would benefit from some clearing out and updating. There are too many nick nacks and books (which can hold moisture), and replacement of some furniture (fabric furniture has furniture covers) and appliances (eg, microwave) would be an improvement. At night when we needed to close up the windows to keep mosquitos out, the air in the villa was damp and musty.

The town of Trevignano Romano, Lake Bracciano, and the area around the lake are fantastic. We enjoyed walks along the lake, renting a paddle boat, and swimming in the lake. There are also a number of great restaurants and gellateria. The villa is very close to the town, but is near the top of a very challenging hill to climb, so all but the fittest will need to drive to town. Day trips by train into Rome are also very manageable, with the station a 20-minute drive from the villa.

On balance, our stay at this villa was a good experience.

We (2 adults - 4 teenagers) drove from Venice and arrived in Trevignano after dark..Not too good as Trevignano is typically small Italian with few road signs and none well placed. However, after a couple phone calls, the last well after bed time, we successfully arrived.

I can honestly say that This was the low point of our stay and it only got better - much better- from there on in. With the help of Sylvia and her English speaking daughter, we had the most enjoyable, though too short, week of our entire 4 weeks in Italy. The apartment (still not too sure what exactly a villa is) was more than we expected. from a day lazing on the lake to two days sprinting through Rome with a few ffresh home cooked italian meals in between, we all looked forward to getting back "home" and sleeping in the next day.

In the short time we stayed in Trevignano, we became regulars at the small market in town - I believe our 4 teenage American appetites made a measurable up tic in the local economy. Make sure that you get directions from Sylvia to the market, this experience alone (grocery shopping) was worth the cost of the rental. A few things not to forget when doing your first shopping - MOSQUITO REPELLENT. Even more essential to a great stay than fresh pasta is the repellent. As our time drew short, we realized we had still not spent a day on the beach. With the help of excellent directions we were able to find our way to the Mediterranean and a beautiful sand beach. This is a must for all, but be warned the sun is a lot hotter and it seems - remember the sunscreen!

I guess that as a review of the aprtment, this is a little shy of details. That is the way it should be. The apartment was comfortable and allowed us to enjoy the sights and people we traveled to see. It was clean and had all the amenities advertised and most importantly it was the the perfect complement to our Italian adventure - it did not become the the "adventure" and this is a good thing!

A lovely appartment in a lovely location, The owner was very helpful beforehand and gave details of restaurants the supermarkets which were very helpful. Didn't fancy walking up the hill, as one guest so rightly said it was "beyond nasty" so drove down and parked which was quite easy at this time of year, probably more difficult in the summer. Very good restaurant at the bottom of the hill, friendly and good food. Easy to get to Rome but it was very crowded and the queue to visit St Peter's made that out of the question, so I imagine it must be even worse at the height of the season. Thoroughly enjoyed our week in Trevignano and Benji visited frequently and was very entertaining. If you want to visit this part of Italy then you will be made very welcome. It is very relaxing and to sit by the lake was a joy We loved it every minute of our stay and were sorry to leave,

The property is a good size and well maintained for a family holiday and set in beautiful location. My family enjoyed the lovely well kept garden. It is very handy to the airport, trips into Rome and we liked its accessibility to beautiful villages and historical hamlets around the lake. Tourist information in Trevignano is very useful. Unfortunately finding it open proved to be very difficult. We had a hired car which is quite essentail if one want to sight see. We spent most of our the time doing just that. Plenty of restaurants around and no shortage of places to eat although it can be expensive at times. Sylvia have a list of places to eat and we tried one she highly recommended. It was excellent - thanks Sylvia. We enjoyed our stay in Tregvinano and would highly recommend this to our friends.

The home itself was also perfect, as well as the hosts'. We had a wonderful experience with a very clean and comfortable home that fit our large family very well. The listing of the property was extremely accurate - close to trains to Rome, 3 beautiful towns with several dining options, and all the amenities a large family needs. The owner is very friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed communicating with the owner. I would recommend this property to anyone and everyone (small families or large - friends and family). We especially liked the Italian eatery closest to the home (open late with exceptional food, and wine selection). The lake is beautiful, the venue serene! Thank y ou so much for our wonderful stay!
