What can we say? We're seasoned villa renters across the UK and Europe and Villa Miradouro is without doubt the most amazing house we have ever stayed in.

The house exceeded our expectations and was excellent value. Location is superb - remote but not too isolated with facilities only a short drive away. The spacious design & layout of the house allows natural light through it all day, but the tinted windows and gentle sea breeze keep things cool, even in August.

Kitchen is top spec and had all we needed. Furniture all high quality and very comfortable. All rooms were kept spotless by Maria the friendly & helpful housekeeper. Gardens absolutely beautiful and the BBQ annexe and area is a great chill-out space too.

Swimming pool was lovely and just the right temperature; clean and safe for a (supervised) young family. We also spent hours lazing in the hammock and sun-loungers.

We spent many happy evenings on the balcony enjoying wine and spotting whales and dolphins (take good binoculars though!)

Self-catering is not a chore in this house. We spent every day of our stay at the villa; we just didn't see the need to go out.

Our abiding memories of this house are the amazing seaviews, the space, light and peacefulness of the place.

We stayed at Villa Miraduoro during September 2011... my first visit to Madeira although my husband had been there many years before.

Madeira is a beautiful island.. amazing views - lush green countryside - and interesting roads!! I'm a coward - my husband did all the driving!! The villa is very secluded and the sea views from the balcony and verandah could not be bettered... remember to take binoculars!! Villa Miraduoro is beautifully furnished and the housekeeping by Maria during our stay was second to none!!

All in all - a wonderful holiday in surroundings that cannot be beaten - we will definitely be going back!!

We stayed at this villa 1st week in June 2011. Stunning. It is very comfortable and clean with everything you need for perfect total relaxation, very secluded. Good value for money. A lovely lady called Maria (the housekeeper) pops in several times a week, keeps the pool clean, sorts the laundry etc. Theres a fab BBQ and surrounding gardens. About an hour from Funchal so a hire car is a must. One negative: the pool is chilly, but once in and splashing about, it was great. Our two girls loved it and had enormous fun. Surrounding countryside stunning, lovely sunsets and birds of prey flying about. Would recommend the rock pools in Porto Moniz (great fun for the children and young-at-heart), again about an hours drive away (up north). We were given very helpful directions and tips from the Owner before our arrival. A tip: dont bother with the 'Jungle Rain' restaurant in Arc de Caleta (you will probably read various recommendations for it during your stay). The drive up to the plateau (where Jungle Rain is located) is fab, glorious scenery (we were above the clouds at one point) but give the restaurant a miss! Would recommend Madeira and especially this Villa, and will definitely be going back to both! Try the Madeira speciality: Meat on a skewer. Available in most restaurants. For self catering, we liked the Supermarket at Ribeira Brava (Modelo ?), selling non-expensive wine for relaxing evenings on the villa terrace, whilst soaking up the last of the sunshine. Oh, and we really liked the local beer called Coral!!

We had a wonderful holiday in Madeira. The villa was a perfect place to unwind.Peaceful, clean, comfortable and well equiped.The owner of the villa obviously takes great pride and care of the property. Although rather remote,we found the villa quickly thanks to the clear e-mailed directions. We did several lavada walks and did the 2km basket run in Funchal. We were very impressed with the island which we found so unusual and colourful. We would love to return with friends next time, We will be back!

Villa Miradouro is a wonderful property to stay and relax and unwind.
We have stayed in many places around the world but have not found one to match this property. It is beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean (thanks to the wonderful Maria) who does a superb job of looking after the place.
We loved being there so much, we didn't want to go out and eat, but with a wonderful kitchen and barbecue area, we had everything we needed right there at the villa.
You do need a head for heights as the property is on the edge of a cliff and down a winding road with sheer drop over the cliff one side and ditches on the other!!! Don't let that put you off, the views are breath taking!!!
Truly a place to escape to and we will definitely be going back again. Tony and Chrissie

We have spent Christmas holidays 2010 in this beautiful property. It was perfect and secluded getaway to have a rest after a very busy year. We went to France, we saw Niagara Falls, we visited Washington and Chicago, we explored the caves of Indiana, we went to Alaska and mingled with brown bears in Hallo Bay, we crossed the Arctic Circle and we flew more then 30000 miles in the 2010. Our stay in Villa Miradouro was the icing on the traveller's cake. Madeira is beautiful and we will definitely come back again.

We were spoilt for choice when we were searching the net for a Villa to rent for our 25th Wedding Anniversary with our son and his wife. We are so delighted that we choose Villa Miradouro as we had one of the most amazing holidays ever thanks to the great effort of the owner and his staff ensuring that we had a wonderfull relaxing and care free holiday, Maria the housekeeper is such a gem and a very friendly lady making it a true asset to your stay. Madeira is a wonderful Island with so much to do and explore, and it's residents a delight to meet. Are already planning on returning next year for a longer stay at the Villa. Would gladly recommend Villa Miradouro to friends and business associates.

D'oh! Should have brough the binoculars! Villa Miradouro is all that it promises and more - triple aspect sea views, total isolation, breath-taking sunsets and utter tranquility.

Kept spotlessly clean by the ever cheerful Maria, the villa is equipped with all mod-cons, crisp white linen and beds that are hard to leave.

We spent the first six days of our honeymoon here and would recommend this beautiful villa to anyone.
