An idyllic rustic, rural retreat!

We have just returned from an amazing week at Au Cedre, we are a party of four adults, an 18month old boy and a bouncy labrador. None of us wanted to leave at the end of the week!!
The listing and description are 100% accurate and the house book and information sent by the owner was invaluable and so helpful. We all fell in love with the house which has a grand, rustic feel, all three bedrooms are extremely large and very well decorated.
We had planned on eating out, as there are some beautiful villages nearby like Issegeac and Eymet but we soon changed our minds once we stocked up the fridges. We spent every evening having BBQ's on the terrace, drinking heady Bergerac wine and listening to the sounds of the garden.
The location is ideal for dog walking and the neighbours all incredibly friendly and welcoming. We took it in turns to cycle to the village every morning to get the pastries and bread for the day. The grange bikes and garden toys are a very handy extra!
As London dwellers, we all had iPhone's and a need to watch the Apprentice - the house has wi-fi and a large TV showing english channels. So we couldnt have asked for more!!
We would all recommend Au Cedre, best for families and dogs - to get the most out of the garden/pool/house but also would be good for a cycle holiday - both men in our party took their road bikes and spent every day (even in the heat!!) cycling past the beautiful sunflowers and exploring the terrain (Tour De France wannabees).
The owner has been very helpful, emailing us details of the local vet and answering all questions we had. Thank you for a perfect stay Bryce!

Vermieter-Kommentar: I am pleased that you and your party, Lorraine, had a good time in deepest rural France: and am especially pleased that the Vet worked out well for you - next year we take the dogs! And that you confirm that the Wi-Fi is now working; a major project for me because I need it for work (yes, even on holiday) and anyone who owns in France Profonde can attest to the difficulty of getting that working! They can also recognise the fact that it is very gratifying to cook in, but it is a great pity that you did not get to 'La Bruceliere' in Issigeac....I look forward to your return visit - to have a holiday but perhaps also to go house hunting and then to buy somewhere of your own to enjoy...!
