First immpession...wow! Woburn Villas a must for a return visit.
Only one bad point, a nowhere near long enough, two nights, to experience the beautifully presented accomodation so thoughtfully designed by Yvonne and Sam.
Spotlessly clean everywhere in huge open spacious rooms. The Kitchen completely fitted out with all the appliances any cook would dream about, right down to the decent saucepans and dishwasher! After all if youre on holiday who should hand wash dishes.
The lounge with plenty of stylish seating, beautiful little touches, soft lamps, cushions, flower arrangement on the coffee table, tv for those that wish, door leading to the balcony with a stunning sea view and natural East wind to keep you cool....both our two nights were spent relaxing here. If you wish for the more adventurous evening then a car would be a good idea. Having said that we found the buses in Grenada much calmer than on other islands, very cheap, not sure in the dark though.
Bedrooms immaculately dressed with flowing layers of curtains rippling with the breeze....calming and no problems with any nibbling insects in the night. Heaven.
Very attractive bathrooms with excellent shower...so clean, fresh and new.
So the perfect place to stay but even more is to come...Yvonne, lovely, smiley, bubbly personality willing to help with any questions. There when you need her and quietly busy keeping the place ticking over when youre out and about. Full of local information about everything and anything which reflects in the extensive amount of attention to detail in her information pack. Very useful and time saving facts about so many holiday related issues.
Yvonne picked us up from the airport for a very reasonable rate and even stopped off at the supermarket for us to stock up, what turned out to be the best kitchen we had used on our ten island hopping holiday.
Martin and I are well seasoned travellers and would highly recommend a stay at Woburn Villas. We are already planning our return, this time with a car so we can get to see the rest of the secrets to be found on the island. Our fleeting visit did take us into Georgetown the centre and yet again we were bowled over with the civilized port area. The local market was an experience in itself filling our senses with the reason why Grenada is called 'Spice Isle'.

A Magical Place.

Each apartment is beautifully maintained by the owner. They are light airy and spacious with modern furniture and fixtures. The owner provides an excellent service to all her clients and willingly gives help and advice on any issue, be it locating amenities for shopping, sightseeing or where to get the best advice on car hire etc.
As many of her guests have said before us, she is a real gem!
The location of Woburn Villas is on the side of a hill, and the road that accesses the apartments is not tarmacked. Bus and taxi services are very good and very reasonably priced, but the best sort of transport for a stay there has to be a four wheel drive, which again can be hired locally very cheaply.
There are many excellent eateries and restaurants locally in St Georgies, and staff are friendly, helpful and overall the service and food is of a high standard.
The last requirement for newcomers to Grenada is a good sense of direction as signposts on the main roads are few and far between!!!!
Given the above pre cautions I would recommend a stay at Woburn Villas.

When we were looking for accommodation in Grenada, Woburn Villas was highly recommended and Yvonne responded almost immediately to our initial enquiry. She greeted us with a huge smile at the airport, even though she had had to wait a long time as our flight was delayed. When we arrived at the apartment, she had cooked a wonderful meal for us of fish in a delicious sauce with local herbs, rice and salad, followed by pistachio icecream. She had also done some basic shopping, arranged in advance via email, which was very helpful. The apartment was very spacious, new and clean, with a lovely view across the valley towards the sea. It is very nicely decorated and comfortable and the kitchen is well-equipped. It is off the main road but easy to find and is a short drive from various beautiful beaches - our favourite was Magazine Beach where the snorkelling was great but do be careful not to step on any of the spiny sea urchins on the rocks just off the beach.
Yvonne was lovely, always smiling and happy to help with any questions that we had, even helping us dry our swimming clothes before we flew back. When one of the air-conditioning units stopped working, she sorted it out quickly and got it replaced. Grenada is a beautiful island with some stunning beaches. We drove around the island, visiting the nutmeg factory, a rum distillery, an amazing waterfall and a small beach surrounded by palm trees. One of the highlights was a snorkelling trip by boat to the underwater sculpture park and reef where we saw beautiful fish and a shoal of cuttlefish. We had some nice meals out but it was great to be able to self-cater and have a supply of tropical fruit juice and icecream in the fridge.
We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Yvonne and Woburn Villas. Thank you Yvonne.

Fantastic Self Catering Apartments

From the moment I spoke to proprietor Yvonne on the telephone to enquire, I knew this would be a great place to stay. I visited with my 16 year old son for a week. Wobern Villa's offers lovely, home from home accommodation with everything you could need. The apartments are immaculate and Yvonne is a wonderful host. Wobern Villa's is off the beaten track, about a 10 minute drive from Grand Anse beach & to get the best from your stay I recommend hiring a car. Woburn Villa's offer excellent value for money and we will come again!

Magical days in Grenada

We spent few days just before Christmas in Grenada this year - to check the island if it would be for us. And we were more than satisfied! The accommodation was modern, rooms were clean and spacious having all amenities you need to enjoy your stay. And the hostess Yvonne added the charm to all of this. Beaches were nice and not so far from the villa. Everything was excellent and we really recommend everybody the stay at villa and Grenada too.

We are very pleased to add our endorsement to other reviews posted about these holiday apartments. We were met at the airport by Yvonne, who was charming, friendly and helpful. The apartments are beautifully presented, with all the facilities you could wish for. We can also thoroughly recommend the evening meal cooked for us by Yvonne, with fresh local produce, which was superb.
Yvonne was very happy to drop us at local beaches and to collect us later either at a pre arranged time or following a phone call. We also used the local buses, which are easily accessible, and Yvonne organised a hire car for us from a local supplier, which was great. For a journey to the fish Friday (at Gouyave) Yvonne organised for the local taxi driver to act as our chauffeur. Thank you Yvonne for helping to make it such an enjoyable holiday!

I'm desperately looking forward to my return to WV.
Being a regular visitor of Grenada i have tried different types of accommodation in different parts of the island and not one has had everything (cleanliness, easy location, warmth, friendly property owner, beautiful modern apartment, freshness, fully equipped) all rolled into one like WV.
The view is amazing, especially in the night.....relaxing on the balcony with a beverage - bliss!
As WV is situated a 10 minute drive away from the town, it made it so much easier for me to pop down to the supermarket, bank, beach etc as and when i needed.
Yvonne is a real sweetie....which made me feel so at home.

We cannot fault the property or the owner ( Yvonne ) at all. She was very welcoming and alway's making sure we were comfortable and everything in the property was running smooth. We couldn't of asked for a better person to take care of us. From the day she met us at the airport, she was very helpful. Also she is very down to earth, and you can have a laugh and a chat with her as if you have known her for years. The property is ever so clean and very modern in term's of decor. The view's from your balcony are priceless, and when the breeze kicks in, it is just lovely. Even though you can get buses to and from the property, it make's more sense to hire a car as it just round's up your stay even more. Again Yvonne even assisted us with this. If I could change the clock's back, I would still be there now with my family as we loved it so much. The only thing I did not like which was no fault of Yvonne's ( owner) was the creepy crawlies outside, which is understandable as it's the caribbean. But yea I would say even without a swimming pool available, Yvonne and her property are great for couples, single people and families. You need to experience this place and see, and also it is a better price than a lot of other places avialable, without cutting back on quality. Thank you Yvonne.....kind regards Mikey and family xx

My family and I stayed at Woburn Villas for the first time in July 2011, and we did not want to leave.We had a wonderful time and all enjoyed the luxury, cleanliness and comfort that the villa provided.Yvonne our host was very friendly and helpful,she felt like family to us.
Everything that gives you comfort at home,you will find at Woburn Villas.The grounds are wonderful with a selection of beautiful tropical flowers,cut lawn and fruit trees.We had the pleasure of picking local mangoes from Yvonne's garden,and enjoying the lovely views of the bay and greenery of luscious Grenada.Yvonne kept the villas spotlessly clean and surely worked hard towards ensuring that her guests were well taken care of.Thank you Yvonne for taking us to town whenever we needed it since we did not drive.I must say that the luxury and warm hospitality at Woburn Villas made it very hard for us to say goodbye,but we shall surely be back!

About as nice as an Apartment Gets!

Woburn Villas apartments are much nicer than they have to be! They are absolutely HUGE, and have more amenities than most in its price range - perfect for long stays. The apts were very clean, well-preserved, and quite noise-proof. And EVERYTHING worked! the full size fridge and stove, the microwave, washing machine, the TV, DVD player -- EVERYTHING! There was internet but no wireless, so leave the iPad and bring the mini! The layout of the 2bdrm apt was perfect for two separate travel groups providing the maximum amount of privacy for both. The terrace was not wide, but was very long, and did provide a beautiful, relaxing view of the bay and nice, cool breezes. The bedrooms had optional aircon, but we found the floor fans were more than sufficient, and if not as convenient as ceiling fans, did have the added benefit of being portable, so could be moved between the bedrooms and the living/sitting area, which while leading to the wonderful terrace didn't have a screen which would allow one to leave the sliding doors open to take advantage of the breeze. Woburn is REMOTE. You will need a car or driver as there’s literally NOTHING within walking distance – even for those who don’t mind walking up steep hills. With a car, nothing was very far -- airport, "town" and Grand Anse can all be reached in less than 15 road-harrowing minutes. The apartments provided free parking -- although not for the novice driver, as the parking and the apts were down a several very steep inclines, and it can be trying to get out if the lot is fully occupied. On the bright side, these inclines pretty much guarantee that there will be no walk-bys or drive-bys. Yvonne was a wonderful and accommodating hostess, and would try to provide anything you requested. She lived nearby (up one of the steep inclines), so was always readily available for inquiries and mini-emergencies. If you desire to walk across the street to the beach, this is not the place for you. However, if you don't mind a short drive, then Woburn Villas provides a large, airy, spacious apartment in a beautiful, tranquil setting, with all the amenities of home - but the beauty and atmosphere of the Caribbean.

We are glad to hear that you find Woburn Villas airy and spacious and that it was much too nice to be a holiday accommodation, but we pride ourselves to make our guests happy and to make them feel that Woburn Vilas is their home.
We will in the near future install WiFi so when we have groups everyone can use their laptops and iPads. We are also getting quotes for patio door screens and hope to be able to install these very soon.
Woburn Villas is only 10 minutes drive to the city of St. George the capitl, the famous Grand Anse beach plus other beaches, bars and restaurants therefore we do not consider Woburn Villas to be REMOTE!! Up the road (3 minutes walk) from us there is a small grocery shop and another 5 minutes walk to the main road there are many, many more plus the Little Dipper Restaurant. We are sorry that you were not comfortable about the small slope to drive up and down and in your eyes find it "steep" if fact if you visit and know the Caribbean then maybe you would appreciate that Woburn Villas is in deed quite flat comparing. There are also steps to reach our house where in seconds your need can be attended to wheather to get an extra pillow of to turn on the oven etc.
We are not a beach front accommodation, even though it will only take you 10 minutes drive the most to get to one of the many beaches we have in Grenada.
If you do not want the hustle and bustle yet close to it, then Woburn Villas is the place for you.
