Relaxing stay in lovely aparment

We have a just returned from a lovely week in this apartment in idyllic Sao Marhinto do Porto. The apartment really is a home away from home; Debbie and Phil have thought of all the items you will need to make your stay comfortable. We really enjoyed the flexibility staying in an apartment allowed us, especially being able to cook and to have breakfast when we decided! Although there are numerous restaurants in the local area, each serving delicious local cuisine like Clams, Wild Boar and Octopus.
The complex itself is lovely, as mentioned by other reviewers, it is a little out of the town but this is fine, it really is only a 10 minute walk (maximum) to the seafront. It is a gated complex with underground parking which provides extra security, although we really don’t think security is an issue in this small town. Our visit was at the end of the season so the complex was very quiet and the pool a little cool but this was no problem as there are numerous beaches in the area, the best in our opinion being north of Nazare (about 30 minutes away), small towns and of course Lisbon is only an hour away.
Debbie and Phil operate a professional holiday letting service from start to finish. A real perk of their service is the provision of the photographic driving directions from your arriving destination. We certainly would have done several laps of Porto’s ring road without them! Their Sao Marhinto do Porto based letting agent is also wonderful, we contacted her on our arrival in Porto and arranged a time to meet her, where she provided us with the keys and gave us a tour of the complex. We also had her mobile number should we need to contact her with any problems, thankfully we had no need too but it was good to know there was someone there to help us should we need it.
We would really recommend this apartment if you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful seaside town, with friendly people and delicious food. We are already planning our return trip!

Sao Martinho Do Porto is a beautiful place. The apartment was home from home. Had everything you could wish for and more. Very spacious, air con in every room and finished to a high spec. Location is great has was only 5-10 mins walk to the beach. The beach is stunning with great views of the harbour. Great when the sun is setting. Restaurants are also amazing and have some great fish dishes. especially the lobster. All in i would highly recommend Sao Martinho Do Porto and shall definitely be returning with my family.

Great apartment in lovely relaxed seaside resort

We visited Sao Martinho do Porto for the first time this year and our kids are already planning a return trip! On our arrival we were met by the owner's representative who gave us the key. We had her phone number and could contact her should we have any problems but happily we didn't need to. The apartment itself was great - modern and easy to keep clean with a good sized pool. It had air conditioning which was great - we switched it on for a little bit before going to bed. There was a great selection of DVDs and a wide variety of inflatable toys for the pool as well as tennis rackets. An added bonus was the provision of beach towels. The location is a little outside town which had pros and cons. It was easy to find and saved the hassle of negotiating the small streets in the town. But it was about a 10 minute walk to the beach and restaurants. This proved no problem for our kids - aged 9 and 7 - but might be a little far for those with very small ones. The directions given from Lisbon were excellent and there were two great information books in the apartment detailing recommended sight-seeing and restaurants in the area as well as info on restaurants in the town. We would highly recommend this apartment and this area. The beach is lovely and there are loads of lovely places to visit locally. We hope to be back soon!

We had a lovely week in Sao Martinho, the apartment is well equiped, spacious and clean and the complex facilities were also well maintained, the pool was perfect for our 2 young children (aged 5 and 3). Sao Martinho is a lovely resort, with beautiful beaches, only a 10 minute walk from the apartment. The resturants are reasonably priced and child friendly, the locals were all very friendly. We visited several other towns close by, the area in general is really pretty, we would definatly like to visit again to explore further.

The apartment was perfect. It had everything a vacation rental should have, and more. The property manager was very pleasant and helpful. Sao Martinho is nice enough and, even better, it is well situated in a very interesting region (e.g.: Obidos, Foz do Arelho). Recommended.

This apartment has everything you need for an enjoyable stay in the lovely Sao Martinhio. Fully equipped and beautifully furnished. Close to the local shops and restaurants. An excellent choice!

We had a great holydays in this fantastic area of Portugal. The apartment is very nice and welcoming with all the equipment you may need. We used very much the tennis court and the swiming pool and we found specially useful the welcome package with the recommendations for places to visit, beaches, restaurants, where to buy, etc... we followed it almost every day!
We loved going for a walk to San Martinho and eat in one of the many and great restaurants that there are.
We recomend it to families with children, and we hope to go again sometime.

Great apartment - very spacious, well equipped, comfortable and clean. Could not fault it at all. Spent most days on the great beach - within 10 mins walking distance. Sao Martinho Do Porto is a lovely place, certainly not too commercialised with great places to eat - we loved Portobello restaurant. Locals were very friendly. We had a very chilled out 2 weeks and didn't feel the need to hire a car as everything we wanted was in the resort. Would certainly recommend!

...left nothing to be desired and lots of thought clearly gone into providing every possible mod con you could want abroad, including a great TV and fantastic selection of DVDs for the odd cosy night in! Location was great too with a 10 minute stroll to the beach and easy access to the local markets. Wish we could have tried the pool but in late October its a tad chilly to say the least! Nevetherless, had a great time wondering around the bay and nearby medieval town of Obidos - an absolute must and could easily lose a couple of days withn the walled city.
Basically spent our 3 days eating and drinking to our hearts content and fell in love with the place - cant wait to go back!

Our first time in Portugal

It was our first time in Portugal and we all had a wonderful time. The instructions on how to get to the apartmant were excellent and made the task so much easier. The people were incredibly friendly and there were so many places of interest to see (without driving too far). The town itself was liberating as it was unpretentious. We ate out a lot as it was incredibly cheap compared to France or Spain. The recommended canteen like restaurant over the railway track was great. Fantastic value, good food and welcoming atmosphere.
The apartment was very nice and the pool was great for cooling down during the day. My son made friends within a couple of days with a boy that was on our flight. Needless to say he spent most of his time in or around the pool.
I would definitely recommend this apartment to anybody who likes relaxing in a warm and friendly environment and also for those who like to explore the Portuguese countryside.
