Lovely holiday flat that is all the description promises it to be. The flat really is like home from home - it feels very spacious, offers a comfortabel living / dining room, double bedroom and a fully equipped kitchen. Joana and Filipe are very welcoming and were very flexible with regards to our arrival and departure time. The quiet location, which is yet close to the beach, the fish market, a host of restaurants and not least the very easy to use metro into the centre of Porto. Ideal place to relax, explore the area and venture into Porto! Thank you Joana and Filipe for making our stay in Porto a very nice one!

This is a great apartment close to the beach, restaurants and shops. The metro with links to the city centre and airport is only minutes away.
We stayed with our three children and had a great time. Joana made us very welcome and the location was perfect. The apartment was perfectly presented. The beach is beautiful and apart from swimming there are a number of playgrounds with adjacent cafes. The children were the centre of attention in all the shops and restaurants that we visited. Porto is a very friendly city. Top marks and highly recommended!

My husband and I and our two children, ages 6 and 9, loved staying at Joana's apartment in Matasinhos. Our daughter slept on the futon in the living room, our son had a cot mattress on the floor (there was a cot frame, too, but he preferred the floor), and we had the full size bed in the bedroom. The living room, kitchen, and bedroom each had a door from the front hallway, so we were able to close doors and let the children sleep while we read, talked, or watched TV. There was a fan that we put in the bedroom on the warm nights and it was all that was needed. The bathroom has a full tub with a shower head on a flexible hose. It was perfect for getting the last of the sand off the children when we came back from the beach. Also, Joana provided plenty of towels for the beach and for home.

The beach was very close. The areas that had life guards were well marked. There were public bathrooms that were well maintained and clean. There were simple outdoor showers so that we could rinse off when we left the beach. There was a helpful tourist info office right on the Matosinhos beach. I was surprised at the efforts made to make tourists welcome. People were passing out maps of Porto at the airport and in the city of Porto. Tourist offices were many and conveniently located with excellent services. Also, the public transportation was easy to navigate and affordable.

We enjoyed using Joana's fully stocked kitchen, as well as exploring the restaurants in the area. The waiters were very friendly and welcoming with the children. The kids were tickled and much fuss was made over them.

Joana has a very helpful notebook in the room with maps showing the apartment in relation to the metro stop, bakery, grocery store, restaurants, etc. It was very helpful. Also, the welcome basket of fruit and bakery items was just right to get us started on our adventure. When I first looked at the apartment photos online, I thought we would be cramped, but we weren't. The aparment isn't huge, but it is well organized with the best use of the space. We used the washing machine for our clothes, had places to hang our wet things to dry and used the dishwasher without incident. We had a lovely weeklong visit.

We recommend this nice spacious apartment. It is very close to a beautiful beach and restaurants, shops etc are all close by. The bus and metro to go to Porto are at you front door. The appartment was clean and well furnished. The host Joana is friendly and very helpfull to help you with any queries you might have. When possible she will meet you at the airport.

Myself and 3 friends stayed at the apartment for a week at the beginning of June for the Optimus Primavera Sound festival. We were picked up from the airport and taken to the apartment (10 minute drive) where we were greeted with a lovely, clean and well presented apartment with a bottle of wine and cookies waiting on the table.

With a 5 minute walk to a great beach, 2 minutes from a metro station, a bus stop right outside and a mini supermarket two doors down, everything you need is very close by. the transport links into Porto were great. Porto is an amazing town and would recommend spending quality time in the city.

The apartment is a ten minute walk to the park where the Primavera festival takes place, so anyone looking to book for the festival in 2013, I highly recommend this apartment for a place to stay. On the day it rained at the festival, we were able to walk back, get dry and change our clothes and go back to the festival which was a great bonus.

Everything you could possibly need to make your stay at the apartment a comfortable one is included and I would definitely stay again if I were to go back

We were provided with a lift back to the airport when we had to leave, so thanks again to Joana for a great stay!

We had a great stay in Porto/Matosinhos, which was also thanks to the luxuous apartment of Joana. Everything we needed was available and even the travels from and to the airport were arranged by her. Furthermore we received some good hints for where to go. Especially the adress for sushi was good. The location close to the beach and the public transportnet of Porto was exactly what we wished for. Only drawback of the location was the noise coming from the street in the night/early morning. As a small point of improvement we would still advise to try to get the air in the apartment a bit fresher. I think there must have been pets inside, since I had to sneeze from time to time. I think when this is done it is a fabulous apartment to stay when you're visiting Porto. Thanks for everthing.

In traveling to Portugal, I was most interested in staying in Porto area in reasonably priced apartments. This one was both! Right on the beach area, with easy walking distance into the city, or bus in 15m at doorstep, the apartment gave us the opportunity to experience the life of the waterfront, the wonderful fish restaurants, the bakery, and of course, the caves of Porto. The apartment was beautifully outfitted, spotlessly clean and most comfortable. Joana could not have been kinder and more helpful. I would most definitely recommend this apartment to anyone. I forgot to mention, we found a lovely surprise basket to welcome us.

This apartment was the perfect place to stay for visiting Porto and Matosinhos. The location from the apartment of the Porto seafront is phenomenal, and just outside the apartment there is access to restaurants, supermarkets,yellow bus, beach, surf, at doorstep and boat tours, a play ground, Port Wine tasting, shops, and it's all within 15 minutes distance of Porto Center by bus.
We were very warmly greeted by Joana, like she was welcoming us into her own home. We were traveling with our 2 year old daughter and Joana had a special bed made up for her as well as provided toys for her to play with. It is definitely a kid friendly apartment.
The apartment was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare our own meals there. Joana had even provided us bread, juice, milk, wine, and cookies.

I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to visit Porto and I would definitely stay at this apartment again.
