Great little casita. Casual, comfortable & clean. Felt like home the minute we opened the door. Host was attentive & most needs were anticipated and provided for. Great views. Lots to do every day or not, as you wish. Quiet & private. We really enjoyed the Casita.

My group dropped in for a late-season ski outting and couldn't have been more pleased. Everything about the place was in perfect order. The attention to detail concerning the casita was truly amazing and must have taken some real time to put together. The location, 10 minutes from taos and 10 minutes from the ski resort, made it possible to do everything we wanted to do in the short time we were there.

We are all going back next year for sure.

My wife and I stayed for a week at the Casita Truchas and had a marvelous time. It's nice and quiet, woodsy with stunning views, yet close to all the conveniences at Arroyo Seco and Taos just down the road. The square footage is perfect for a couple, and even when our daughter bunked in with us it wasn't too crowded, and the daybed very comfortable for her. There is a big dog on premises, but as we are dog people this was not a downside, and she is thoroughly winning and charming and a good landmark returning late at night, as she likes to sit up by the head of the graveled driveway. Everything is splendidly appointed, convenient and everything has been thought of. Steve is attentive but stays out of the way unless called. The hot tub underneath the glorious stars is not to be missed. Highly recommended if you're looking for a peaceful getaway.

We just spent our second vacation at Casita Truchas. It was better than ever. There's so much to do around there but we love the cabin so much, we just wanted to stay around there. Hot tubing under the stars at night and watching the humming birds and other birds each morning. The cabin is emaculate, and Steve is so friendly. We took our dog this time and he loved it, so much to look at. Can't wait to go back next summer, or maybe even sooner. We have recommended this cabin to all our friends and family. Our daughter and family plan to go this winter. Thanks Steve for another wonderful stay.

For years I have rented vacation homes that truly did not live up to their descriptions. The Casita changed all of that! It was immaculate upon arrival and had every possible amenity you could ever want or need. Kitchen and bathroom were spotless! Steve has not forgotten a thing in his preparation of this house. Every evening we would sit out on the deck with fabulous mountain sunset views, while reading through the vast library of tour books on the area that live in the Casita. We would plan our next day's hike and meals. Everything lived up to or exceeded our expectations! This was beyond a fabulous trip. When we did want to cook it was like cooking at home. Everything in the kitchen was well stocked, organized, and easy to find!

Traveling with pets can be both stressful and wonderful. The Casita offered a safe place for them and they definitely had as much fun on this trip as we did. They didn't want to leave.

Steve was incredibly friendly and easy to communicate with, while still respecting our privacy. He gets a gold star for his incredibly detailed upkeep of the Casita! We enjoyed the puzzles, games, DVD collection, guide books, and magazines. We can't wait to return!

We stayed at the Casita in October of '09. We only had a couple of days and it was our introduction to the Taos area. We knew we had to return to spend more time. We came in June this time and spent 5 days and nights. What a great place. It is a perfect home base for all the activities available in the area. The Casita is meticulously cared for. Complete privacy and quiet. We were able to soak up the serenity of the mountains. Great view of the stars on the deck. Watched the hummingbirds in the evening after we got back from hikes, biking trips and fly fishing. Two days wasn't enough. Five days is still not enough. I guess we are in for 2 weeks next time!
