We have travelled N.Z. for five weeks and stayed at cottages throughout the length and breath of this beautiful country and Red Door cottage has to be the very best we stayed in. The cottage is beautifully appointed with everything that anyone could ask for. It is so comfortable warm with fantastic beds and a pantry full of wonderful goodies .No other cottage offered anything like this one did Jenny was very helpful with any query we had . We loved the quiet lane it is positioned in and the lovely gardens and so very close to the city .The appointments of this cottage is second to none. Thanks Jenny for everything and if we are back in Ch Ch I know where we will stay and that will be Red Door Cottage

Spent 3 nights here in October. The cottage was very comfortable for the four of us and was within walking distance of downtown Christchurch and the city parks. The owners were delightful to work with and went out of their way to help us plan our trip. Absolutely wonderful experience

This is an absolutely delightful little cottage. It has everything you need for your stay in Christchurch. The location is within walking distance of downtown and close to amenities such as restaurants and a grocery store. The owners are very accommodating. We communicated on several occasions prior to our visit and Jenny provided us with information on everything from tours to driving. Loved every minute of it. Thank you so much for everything.

Red Door Cottage is one of the nicest Homeaway/VRBO choices that we have made. The photos don't do it justice. It's beautifully decorated with lots of room and new appliances. Everything was perfect...Jenny has taken a lot of care and time in creating an amazing home-away-from-home! She met us and explained where everything was, and she left breakfast provisions in the fridge to get us started. The house is conveniently located [about 10 minutes from the Airport], close to a grocery store, shops and a great cafe at the end of the street. A wonderful choice!

Wow! Wow! Wow! What a stunning property and house. Location was perfect, house was fabulous and none of us wanted to leave. Everything down to the last detail has been thought of and made our stay so comfortable. Would highly recommend and use it again, thanks so much for sharing your lovely home/bach with us.

We enjoyed a very comfortable home from home stay at Red Door Cottage in March. The house could not have been more perfect for us. Travelling with 2 young children (4 & 2) for 4 months round NZ, it was a pleasure to be able to relax in a clean, tidy & comfortable house in a lovely suburb of Christchurch. We could cook our own meals at a time we wanted to in a very well stocked kitchen, relax in the sitting room and sleep in comfortable beds - even doing our washing (which after several weeks in a campervan was a real pleasure! It's amazing what you miss when you're not at home!)

Location wise, it was an easy drive to shops and supermarkets and also into the main part of town that you were able to access at the time and we enjoyed the Botanic Gardens amongst other areas. We were also picked up from the Cottage for a small tour to the Akaroa and Banks Peninsula which was great fun.

Jenny was very easy to deal with over email from the UK and accommodated any requests we had for our youngest child very happily. Would definitely recommend to friends and would love to stay again if we are lucky enough to come back to Christchurch soon. It's a wonderful town - don't miss out on it!

My wife and I have just returned home to England after spending a wonderful 2+ weeks staying at Red Door Cottage. The accommodation was spacious, very well furnished to a high standard and very clean. Everything was catered for including every item of kitchen equipment that could possibly be needed. A big modern television with Sky. Heat pumps in the main lounge and bedroom if required.
Outside the cottage is bordered by a delightful private garden, where we were able to sit on many occasions in the lovely weather. The owners had thoughtfully provided breakfast food for the first couple of days which was very useful after a long journey. Being Easter they had even left us some Easter eggs a lovely touch. The cottage is in a quiet lane but a few yards away one could walk to the main road and then to Merivale village which has a large modern mall and Supermarket catering for all needs.
We will be back in New Zealand again to visit family and hopefully we shall not be staying anywhere else but Red Door Cottage if available.

This nicely decorated, very clean cottage was perfect for our brief visit to Christchurch! The listing was accurate and everything was in working order. We especially appreciated the food items as we did not have a car and not knowing the area very well, we didnt have to worry. It's location to Christchurch was great, just a little over a kilometer away, easily walkable. We would definitely stay here again!
